This had a cute premise but the writing was bad. The characters especially were written very superficially, and because of that, the relationships between them didn't feel like they had any depth either. There were times where I wondered why are these people friends? What do they like about each other? Idk maybe it's just me. I loved the second couple but unfortunately, I didn't care for any character by the time I finished this. I guess it's on me because I thought this was going to resemble Hilarious Family since they have a similar theme and I got my expectations set up really high.

This writer's dramas in general fall under the makjang category. But don't think Penthouse level of craziness, it's more like people are screaming and crying a lot (probably after the 1/3 of the drama). Also, there will be some annoying scheming and toxic characters. I watched her last one till the end and it really went downhill, the toxic characters got sooo frustrating and the main couple had like four (?) breakups. The director in this one is better so I have some hope that maybe it will be a tiiiny bit better but I'm keeping my expectations low.
The characters breaking the 4th wall and complaining to the writer and the director makes me think that the two latter ones are self aware that they actually don't know what to do with this story lol.

It's not very well written but it means well and it has some cute characters. The humor is very silly and extra so some jokes are a hit or a miss. It's a good drama to watch when you want something light and relaxing.
Ep 12: HAHAHA I DID NOT expect that twist in the end!! I really thought they were doing a groundhog day type of plot and it got me by surprise at first, I was like "this has fantasy now in it"? Pffft I can't believe it was all a plan lol. Side Note: Fan Zhong Ju subconsciously reaching his hands to protect Yu Huan when they got scared by the thunder was sooo cute! Why is he so adorable like this?

In general, I feel like this is sillier than Hilarious Family. Anyways, the romance isn't the main focus but it's adorable! There are two potential couples so far. The leads have a somewhat slow burn, enemies-to-lovers thing. The second couple is friends-to-lovers and they are the cutest beans! Personally, I like them more than the mains so far. As a fellow fan of Hilarious Family, I'd say give it a try. It has that heart-warming feeling and the characters really grow on you as you're watching.
I was curious about this because the historical slapstick comedy theme reminds me of Hilarious Family which I LOVED!! 1st episode had some "what even is going on" moments lol but it did made me laugh a couple of times. I noticed a promising chemistry between the leads.
