I'm a huge fan of Deng Lun and Dilraba, but I've been stuck at episode 38 for the longest time. Every time I try to finish up this drama, I get bored and end up watching something else. The story got very bland after a certain point and there's way too much drama for a flower company lol I feel like this final stretch of episodes will continue to be filled with just company issues and I don't think it needed to be 48 episodes either. They could've saved us the extra drama /fillers and just closed the story earlier.
Who else could it be? We know Yun Xi's mom is definitely dead since she fell off of a cliff and the bag she was…
I actually never stated that Yun Xi was the one who said Fei Ye wasn't allowed to see her body. I am aware that Qi Shao was the one who said it and all I meant by my previous comment was that Qi Shao's false statement was all they shared about her body's whereabouts after her supposed death. As for your explanation as to why she never returned, it does make sense, rather than the other theory I heard; that she was away because she was recovering. There's really no need to recover if her bracelet already saved her. Thanks for helping me understand the story a bit better.
this was super cute but did they ever even touch on the synopsis?
I'm not sure if you found an answer already, but if you haven't, the synopsis that was posted for this drama is actually for the movie that has the same title and cast. This mini drama is just a prequel to the movie that's coming out soon and was mainly to set up the background story and introduce the characters. Some japanese movies now have mini drama prequels so they can film more of the story they're making a live adaptation of and also so they won't need to use much of the limited time they have in the actual movie to introduce everyone.
Who else could it be? We know Yun Xi's mom is definitely dead since she fell off of a cliff and the bag she was…
I guess I should've rephrased my thoughts for that specific part, I just didn't want to make my original comment way longer than it already was. While watching, I understood that it was likely supposed to be Yun Xi who took the bracelet as she is the only person who fits the bill and it would make sense that she might look different since the viewers were partially seeing through Qi Shao's scope of vision under the influence of poison. But even so, I was skeptical. To have her happily walking away from her friend who was laying on the ground poisoned seemed a bit odd to me even if she did feed him a pill to save his life.
Not to mention, there were no details as to what happened to her body after she stabbed herself, just that Fei Ye was not allowed to see it. While I am aware that the bracelet saved her life, I wasn't sure to what extent. She seemed to be just fine in the scene where she saved Qi Shao, but I read some comments from other viewers who claimed she disappeared for a long time because she needed time to recover from her injuries, so I was confused as to what the real story was; especially since I did not read the novel and dramas usually don't follow the novels accurately.
I was pleasantly surprised by this drama and I liked the cast. Yun Xi and Fei Ye made a cute couple and I liked how she helped him open up. I'm not going to lie, it did have a lot of boring moments, especially with all the palace drama, but I liked the concept of the female lead being proficient in handling poisons.
What I didn't like though was how little screen time Yun Xi and Fei Yei had together. The drama spent a lot of time on the events around them, would show them for a quick moment, then would go right back to all the drama. Even the side characters had more progress and screen time for their relationship than they did. I also wasn't fond of how obsessive they made Qi Shao over time. He was annoying me so much towards the end of the drama lol
The way it ended was questionable. I watched both endings and they both didn't do it for me. There was not much info about how or why the bracelet saved her life. Yeah. we saw it light up and freeze all the poison books, so.. what does that mean? Also, who took the bracelet from Qi Shao? I saw comments saying it was Yun Xi herself, but it honestly didn't look like her at all. Maybe I missed something.
But my ultimate question is.. why was Yun Xi just picking herbs there at the end when a whole Fei Ye was right there? I would think with how in love they were and how long they had been apart that she would've at least showed some sign of surprise or happiness, or at least said something. It looked like only he was happy to see her. It was weird.
I finally completed this drama after the longest time and I can honestly say they really didn't need 50+ episodes. I contemplated dropping it several times because at one point they kept using a dozen flashbacks every episode and the story kept dragging.
I also don't mind when dramas use cgi as long as the story is entertaining, but for those who do care I will warn you that this was literally a cgi fest lol It was so overdone. On a positive note though, the cgi landscape sceneries they used were beautiful as well as the costume designs for everyone. It's just a shame that the story itself was very underwhelming. I didn't read the novel, so I'm not sure how it compares but overall this is not a drama I would sit and watch again.
I've only watched through episode 11 (not sure if I'm going to finish...) but the thing that bothers me most about…
Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I am only on episode 6, but this is one aspect of the story that keeps bothering me as I continue watching. She has fended off spirits for so many years, but suddenly she doesn't know what to do about them when he appears back in her life. It's fine if they still show her being scared, but I'd like to see her actually succeed in fending for herself before Son Oh Gong jumps in to intervene. With how helpless they're making her character now, it makes it seem like it's a miracle she has survived this far and it doesn't match up to the way they were originally setting up her character.
yup same here... i was thinking of dropping it .... will watch episode 3 that released today and prob 4 tomorrow…
That's true, so far it seems like a drama we've all seen many times before but with a different cast. If the next two episodes don't play out to anything interesting, I will be dropping this as well. Otherwise it will become a real chore to finish and I really don't feel like torturing myself lol
I'm still trying to figure out if I want to continue watching this. The first episode didn't really peak my interest, but the second episode was slightly better. I do like the cast, but I feel like the story itself might be the problem as it progresses. Hopefully this drama can prove me wrong and develop its own unique take on a rather cliche plot.
Although the drama itself wasn't anything outstanding, I did enjoy watching Hwarang. I just wish they had done more with the plot to keep it interesting. They made a big deal about gathering everyone, but then things kind of fell flat since the story didn't really go anywhere.
I also didn't expect to see mind-blowing acting from the whole cast, especially since the story didn't require it, so I'm not disappointed. Everyone did a decent job, even Go Ara, who many people to be hating on nonstop in the comments. She was just playing the role of her character she was given and I don't feel a lot of the hate I've seen towards her is justified. Park Seo Joon is one of the reasons I watched Hwarang in the first place, especially since he took on the main role. I personally feel that he's great at portraying various emotions for the roles he takes on and this was no exception. He can pull off comedic scenes naturally and also portray serious/emotional scenes when the situation calls for it.
Hwarang was a decent watch overall, but there are many superior historical dramas out there. I think someone who's just looking for a drama to pass the time with some eye candy and a hint of both romance and comedy might enjoy watching this.
I was already planning to watch this since it had lee yo won, ra mi ran, and jun but the drama itself was so good and refreshing to watch that I instantly got hooked. It ended up becoming my favorite drama out of all the others airing around the same time. I wish there more episodes, it ended too soon!
So far, I'm really enjoying this drama as it has a nice mix of comedy, sci-fi, history, and romance. I also like how the actor who plays Akumaru was given a decent role in the story. I originally thought they were only going to have him make a cameo like many other dramas tend to do with foreign actors, but I was happy to see he still plays a role and became part of their family.
What a way to close this drama. Episode 10 started off intense, but then became pretty emotional due to the progress the characters made from the very first episode. You can see how difficult it was for them to reach this point where they have finally acknowledged, accepted, confessed, and now have to live with the consequences of their prank that went terribly wrong and cost people their lives.
Kubota Masataka is an amazing actor (as always) and I wasn't disappointed with his performance in this drama. He can easily portray a wide range of emotions on the spot for the characters he plays and he used his talent well, especially in this last episode. Tobio's monologue on the rooftop was so heart-wrenching to watch because you could visibly see him suffering while sharing his inner struggles he's been keeping to himself all this time. The part that got to me the most about his speech was when he confessed he thought about dying many times while struggling to live with what he did. Even though he wanted to die, he couldn't do it because killing himself would be yet another escape from owning up and taking responsibility for what they did, and he didn't want to run away anymore. Instead, he's caught in between both living in dying, where he can't seem to do either one due to his guilt.
Not to mention, when he brought up Ichihashi (I'm still so sad about that), you could see how guilty he felt for his death which unfortunately still haunts him later on in life. It was sad watching him hallucinate in public, thinking Ichihashi was actually there telling him to die and he actually tried to follow through until he snapped back into reality. The last meeting between the four friends also put things into perspective as well. Initially they were all happy to see each other after such a long time, but couldn't enjoy each other's company anymore knowing what they did and all went their separate ways for good. The ending to the drama was dark, but fitting considering the circumstances. This was a great watch overall, I've never doubted a Kubota Masataka drama lol
Although I had feeling it was coming, I felt bad for Tobio when Maru stole his money while he was sleeping and took off. Poor guy went through so much after that lol But karma did come around eventually and I laughed seeing Maru's plan to steal Isami's money get foiled by the foreign woman he ran into. Instead of making out like a bandit with yet another friend's money, he got the money stolen by her and then got caught by Isami since he passed out from the drink she gave him. That's what he gets! lol
I know everyone's been talking about the plot and character relationships in the comments, but I just wanted to say jung joon young's ost was everything. He never disappoints!
Although this drama is meant to be light-hearted and has some funny moments, I feel like the story itself isn't progressing and it's beginning to lose the momentum it started with. I'm currently halfway though and my interest is starting to fade. This is a web drama, so I don't expect an intricate storyline, but I think it just needs something to actually happen in the episodes. There's pretty much been no investigating on how the leads can switch back, no real antagonists to switch things up a bit, and they don't really seem in a rush to change back either. They're just going about in each other's bodies, helping each other play the part whenever they're in a pinch, and mainly busy focusing on the general da xi is in love with. So I'm not really sure if this story will take an interesting turn or not in the last half. However, one of the things I do like about this drama is the skits they place at the end of every episode. I think that was a creative idea and gives viewers a look at how the leads live together in modern time with a comedic twist, of course.
i swear i have a hard time telling the two bros yuan zhan and yuan ling apart. too closely cast and hair/make-up…
I'm glad to see others feeling the same way because I was having a difficult time in the beginning trying to tell them apart. I even thought maybe William Chan was playing two roles at one point lol It wasn't until I recently watched a drama with Joe Xu in it that I was finally able to see the difference.
What to do with myself now that this drama is over. Wan Seung and Seol Ok were such a good pairing to solve crimes and I loved their relationship. Their chemistry was so natural, even their bantering was entertaining. The way they set up the ending complete with that twist left me wanting to know what happens next. I'd also love to see them solve Seol Ok's parents' case since things were pretty much left unresolved. Although it's unlikely for most kdramas, I really hope they'll come through for us viewers by making a second season and give us some answers!
I predicted I was going to like this drama since my girl Mariya is in it and I wasn't wrong, I'm officially hooked after watching the first episode. She and Ryuta seem to have great chemistry already and I like how they quickly resolve any issues or misunderstandings between each other even if they happen to have opposing views. With that being said, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how their relationship progresses throughout the episodes. I have a feeling this could become one of my favorites!
