I must come out: not a fan of TharnType and also not of this one. I watched both, but this is not really mine. There is a special episode coming up, but not sure if I am doing that. Maybe give it a try of 1-2 more episodes. I skimmed through most of epsiodes 8-12, to be honest.

Wow. I commented later than you but I did not see your comment. I wrote, for me they look like being in trance. When they talk together, they stare somewhere and mechanically say their text. I just wonder if the whole series is a "dream sequence".
If this series were a bit more sterile you could sell it to hospitals for disinfecting. I have seen NatGeo documentaries about three-leged cockroaches giving birth to jellyfish-like eggs who bound me more emotionally to them. The actors behave sometimes like in a trance. Like they are reading the one sentence they have to from a teleprompter. What's with Aek? Why does he act like this? I don't even understand the whole dinner scene.

I think, this series is more about the shared affection to food and creating food than the love to each other. The BL here is just in the background, like a deep underwater current, sometimes coming to the surface. I guess, some are disappointed of this lack of apparent BL so far. Just ask yourself: do you like it, are you entertained? If not, maybe to put in on-hold or drop it (You means here more the non-personal "whoever", not necessarily "you" in person).
I just finished. Yes, it is slow-pace and yes, there is not much happening, but with all in life: Some like it slow, some like it fast. If this were fast, this forum would be full of complaints how fast it were...
What I feel a bit of too much: Aek's friend Vich. It is too redundant. The plot is parallel to Aek's. I mean, it is the same: be a trainee, fall for the chef... All the puns and comical scenes we have seen with the two girls in the restaurant and Aek, we see now again with Vich. Not really a brilliant idea to have two of the actors doing the same.
Although I love the scenes with food and the sight-seeing in Nan, I was and still am a bit scared that this goes into the "Cupid Coach" direction. Anyhow, episode 6 was free of any advertisement hints, I think. Someone commented below how happy s/he was to see a bit of Thai history, but honestly, if I want to see history I would watch a documentary. Same with food, by the way. I acknowledge that the director wants to make us understand how deep Aek is bound to his home and how much he loves food style.
As for the critics here: Don't make yourself always centre of the universe. If you don't like, then don't like it. Leave your comments or drop it. And if you find it a cineastic masterpeace, be happy and watch it. Accept that others have other opinions. The world would really be boring if all people liked the same.
Wait why did 13 eps became 15??? Been patient this whole time and there was finally 1 ep left they added 2 more?!…
So far I wonder how I survived those 13 episodes. This second season is far from being about Benjo and Emil, it is about the maid. The preview of episode 14, this short glimpse we got, looks like it is their wedding. And now we also have to deal with Christian, the small boy, and his problems. Nothing I really am interested about in a BL series.
I have been watching Golden Blood - the movie, or episode 9 on WeTV for roughly 30 minutes now. Am I wrong or is this just the series put into movie? There is nothing new??? All scenes are from the series so far.
