Can't say I'm surprised. Cnetz are always mad about something. They use racism and discrimination so many times…
*Yawn Try harder, commie. What's the matter, dumbbutt? The Russians cleaned you out, and you're desperate for cash again? What's the going rate nowadays, 3 cents/comment?
I haven’t watched a single episode yet, and I’m honestly hesitating because the hype is everywhere. I’m…
It's different from what PPW did in the past. I'd say GMMTV made the right decision by not casting them in another school drama. It's fairly light-hearted (for the most part), and while Thee's personality may come across as over-the-top at times, it's nicely balanced out by Peach's down-to-earth attitude. If they're following closely to the novel, then things will become more serious, but nothign too dark. I'd say it's worth checking out. It definitely wouldn't be a waste of time, since it's only 10 episodes.
I don't like the Chinese fans, but this time, they're not entirely off the mark here. The author of this series…
That's the sad reality of working with Chinese companies. However, despite their slowing economy, China is still a relatively big market. There's no telling if the same could be said next year, though. Because of all the fan drama, bad behavior from Chinese fans, and horrible treatment of foreign artists (I'm pissed about what they did to Orm back in August), companies are becoming more cautious about working with the Chinese.
The unbearable fans of PP they are happy ? JG, free from these toxic people.
Do your research before blaming the fans. It's the author's fault, not the fans. Would you want to work with an author who was known for making controversial comments about PPW?
I was shocked by the news. This was one of my most anticipated series. The cast was absolutely stellar. Still,…
To be fair, the author has been known to change her name multiple times. Right now, she's known as Shernara, but before, it was Julalumpa. From what I've read on X and Threads, she changes her name every time she got caught by fans, all the while continuing to monetize her work using real actors' names. Anyways, at least the company has cancelled the series. It would've been a whole lot worse if they went ahead with the project.
wow that's all I can say. when you have a complaints about the plot and the actual trailer hasn't even came out…
It's not the first time GMMTV has cancelled a series, but they always have a valid reason to do so. In this case, the problem lies with the author. She's under fire for plagiarism allegations, and she has caused controversy for monetizing fanfics using real actors' names, and for making controversial comments about GMMTV actors. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently, there are also problems within the novels, not just plagiarism.
It's better to cancel it now and focus on finding better scripts for the 3 CPs, than continue on with it and trigger boycotts from fans.

Maybe, but the 227 controversy was insane back then. Not only did China banned AO3 after that, but it nearly destroyed Xiao Zhan's career. Wang Yibo survived only because his agency supported him. Xiao Zhan was lost all of his endorsements and had to start over from scratch. Then recently, China did another crackdown on BL/GL writers, forcing many of them to change genres and even careers. More recently, they've banned all LGBTQ+ content in China. So, if you're in China, I hope you have a solid VPN.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the author then published a fanfic using Xiao Zhan's and Wang Yibo's names, and she monetized the work. That's why the Chinese fans are angry. This, along with plagiarism allegations, controversial comments, and unprofessional behavior as an author, I'd say it's more than enough for GMMTV to abandon the project.
Maybe you don't think it's a big deal, but this is less of what you want, and more of what's good for GMMTV and their actors. Instead of continuing the project and letting the actors deal with the hate on their own, the company is canceling it before things get worse. In doing so, they're also protecting their actors from the haters.

I'm sure they did, but Julalumpa had changed her pen name multiple times. I can't entirely fault GMMTV for that. At least they listened to the fans and cancelled the series. It would've been a whole lot worse if they went ahead with it and let the actors fend for themselves.

According to several Threads posts, Julalumpa (the author) started out writing fanfics on Joylada. She couldn't monetize her works there, so she moved it to readAwrite, where she locked everything, so you'd need to pay to read it. It sparked a controversy because fans accused her of profiting off of GMMTV actors (including PPW) without permission. She promised she'd no longer monetize her works, but as it turned out, she never stopped doing that. When confronted, she said CPs like JD and PPW wouldn't have become famous if it weren't for her published works.
Apparently, this is only the tip of the iceberg. She did a whole lot more, but the online feedback is, you might want to hold off on buying her novels.

That's what the Chinese fans are speculating, but no, "Falling" isn't published on meb or readwrite. The unfinished work is still on AO3 and Lofter (I think).
Of course, right now, whether or not MaiLeDiDiDi and Julalumpa are the same person is mostly speculations on Tiktok and X. However, it has been 5 years, so I wouldn't be surprised if s/he has gone on to another platform, one where the CCP's crackdown on BL/Gl writers couldn't reach them.
However, this isn't the only thing the author is being accused of. Apparently, even Thai fans are calling out the author on plagiarism allegations, controversial comments she made about PPW, and problematic behavior as an author. I can only say that GMMTV has screwed up big time on this one.
World is crazy. Thais are in a situation that they have to obey Chinese fans, who have the last say on things,…
I don't like the Chinese fans, but this time, they're not entirely off the mark here. The author of this series is apparently a problematic one. She's already facing plagiarism allegations when GMMTV picked up her series. Also, rumor has it that she was the author that triggered the 227 controversy, which resulted in AO3 being banned in China. If that was the case, then her action back then nearly destroyed two actors' careers. So, I can understand why Chinese fans would be upset. Imagine destroying a platform of writers and forcing them to look for another site to post their works (as a writer myself, I can tell you that is not an easy task), then going to Meb and writing under a new pen name like nothing ever happened.
Same. I don't know what GMMTV is thinking. They did the same thing with Melody of Secrets. They took out all the…
I've read the novel, too. The atmosphere only becomes abit lighter after they got together, but not before. They also changed Dunk's character a little. Hopefully, the director didn't botch the series (or the novel).

Um, no. After all, it's possible to make a trailer without ruining the mood and still not give anything away. They were able to do with Hide n' Sis. But this? It's like The Heart Killers 2.0 but without FirstKhaotung.
I'll still watch it, but the trailer is a meh for me.
Honestly, I was quite disappointed by the trailer; paradoxically, the unofficial one was much better, with a decidedly…
Same. I don't know what GMMTV is thinking. They did the same thing with Melody of Secrets. They took out all the dark/mysterious vibe and replaced with humor and romance. Like, do they think we couldn't tell it's BL or something?
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that the show will premiere next month, but that promotional poster is a joke. GMMTV really needs a new arts department. I mean, my teenage niece can do better than this crappy... whatever this is.
Very excited to see episode 4. If they're following the novel, Wivit is about to get the biggest karma of his life. XD

Even if it's not her, plagiarism is a pretty serious offense.
