Well put, you're great at writing reviews, I like your style of writing!! I also love how this drama dealt with consent, it's one of the first BLs I've ever seen portray consent this way!
Does Yu Zhen Xuan have Asperger's? The drama page has the tag "Asperger’s Syndrome." Is there confirmation from the screenwriter and/or production team about this?
You mention Thai television and cinema but this drama is Taiwanese, just thought I should point that out. Furthermore,…
I also wanted to add after seeing another one of your comments here that although Sam did share his drinking experience, I think to say that he was eager to do so is more of an assumption. There are situations in which an actor feels pressured to go through with certain things that directors suggest/encourage whether they are inappropriate or not as we have all seen in the news over the past years. Since we don't know if Sam drinking was his idea, the idea of the director, or someone else's I don't think this situation can be seen solely one way or the other without all the info.

You're welcome, also you can edit that part of your post to correct it.
I see. Objectively speaking, if everyone on set was okay with Sam drinking in preparation for the scene, I don't see too much of a problem concerning the relation between him drinking and the crew since they would have given their consent. However, we don't know if that was the case or not so I think it might be a bit hard to judge the morality of it in that sense. Also, I'm not sure if you've seen the interview in which they talk about Sam drinking (starts at 1:17 https://youtu.be/mTuR1m6V3DM) but to me it seemed like the director was the one who was evidently being unprofessional and inappropriate. He encouraged Sam's drinking and even told him that if he didn't get the scene right, that he should just quit acting. As a director of previous works and general observer, this is INCREDIBLY inappropriate and I'm tired of directors (especially male directors) getting no criticism for this kind of behavior. Essentially, Sam was in an environment where he was encouraged to drink, and even had an *acting coach* along his side while doing so.
*This is a long rant about the actor Sam drinking to get drunk before playing a drunk scene on the set of WBL's…
