The difference is that He CAN stay, but he is also free to go. That’s what President Long emphasised as well. I don’t think Liu Zhengliang will stay in Xiaoximen hospital forever. But the next time he leaves (probably together with Ai Chen) will be because he wants to and not because he’s running away from something. Such a profound story and ending
