So I watched it on IQiYi.. but can someone tell me why the video ends so abruptly at in ep 12.. around 36 minutes?? The ending shouldn't be like that right?

Yup Chinese bl's are one a different level compared to other countries. Hence even if you "hate" them you can't live without them... And the novels too ???

In thier defense...They have to increase the country's declining marriages and child birth ??? ironically though their sickly sweet scripted romances has unconventionally set the expectations bar too high for that to happen.. :/

This was such a fluffy feel good to the bones and soul drama! My only wish is someday they would make a season 2... Where nobody has to sacrifice their life in the modern world.

I wouldn't... Though sometime in the inkwon future might rewatch only ep 1,2, and the last one. As the reviewer's said those were the only episode where many scenes were added. Other than that nope. Rewatching it a second time is just pushing oneself to hell, but this time knowingly... ???

The actor Gong Zheng of yandaixie street 10 and the lead actor here looks worlds apart!!! I mean I can't blv they are the same guys??? Like what did I miss?? Anyone care to explain??!

@crazysexycoolpal: I 100% agree with your review of this very well portrayed drama (although the end scene was something I felt wasn't really necessary). Most ppl who are hating on this drama are only scratching at the surface of the iceberg. There is a whole mountain lot of thinking thats just beneath here, which once deciphered will unlock the road to looking at grand-level societal effects and it's unbiased portrayal.
I finished watching the effect today, and the first thing I did was to look for reviews as think what others were thinking and sadly none of them said anything along the lines of what I was thinking. But then I found yours... And really you have written down beautifully, and I thank you for that!!! I couldn't have myself expressed it any better.
Ps: about your nephew. I hope the kid grows up to be a good human being and one who is never in short for happiness in this lifetime.

Yes yes!!!! My lovely swords girl is what made me die hard yang shi ze fan. That drama is so cool and funny. And all the leads so so so beautiful and cinematography just marvelous. However ep 10 onwards I felt the love triangle was dragged a tad bit much. Like we all could predict how this would end eventually.. so I felt shi ze's character was put under un-called for stress by his wife ??? but that is just my bias for my boy I guess. Ps: I think shi ze rocks both modern and ancient clothing!! Look at his drama breaking dawn and you will see what I mean ????

What?! People are bad mouthing Lee So Hyuk???? But can't seem to get enough of lmh and his white horse (yes eternal monarch reference here) . I am tired of these ppl who can't just appreciate any drama other than the formula knight in shining armour k-dramas. I mean man if this same character portrayed by lmh zombie fans would be Al here praising this very "rude" character and his dedication for the cause well done. I mean the hypocrisy. And compared to some very narcissistic and way too rude male leads we have seen over the years I would say So Hyuk's present day character is damn docile, 10X watered down and above all freaking justified!!!!! Duh! He is a prosecutor bent on punishing the criminal .. so yup ppl he has to be ruthless !! He can't be begging the criminals to not the commit the crime can he now?!!!!! Urrgghhh btw Ace thanks for defending his character!!! Like seriously thanks a ton!!! I just got emotional but you said the all the things factually correct! Much love!

Well weathering heights is a completely different story. Having read the book myself few years back for my literature class i can vouch that except for those passionate lines mentioned you would find no resemblance whatsoever with the book and the drama plot. The book was/is famous for it's portrayal of a love
so divinely conflicted in it's inception and execution that no one could pin point whether a passion/love such as that is a blessing or a curse. .. and the orchestrator of the said love that is Heathcliff and Catherine are so disastrous and self consuming souls in nature that by the end of book it is the readers who are left more haunted than the protagonists themselves.
That being said I think the only similarity the writers are going to align with the book is to make the present day Jang ki young character as eternally conflicted and complicated a soul just like heathcliff. So as to in a way help to at least justify his charter'slove for the female protagonist. That is to portray a love that is always dancing on the grey line between human morality.
But that's just my personal understanding. And I could of course be wrong though ?


Ps: btw I just love lee so hyuk and his character both past and present so I will give him shout out here!!!! So hyuk fighting ???

I love love loved this movie!!!! It felt so warm to watchi this movie... Everything was just perfect! the romances with the second leads weren't made complicated, which was an extreme welcome relief!!!!! (You would also agree if you are a k_drama fan ?) .
But that being said the story, the acting, the leads, the songs.. everything just seamlessly came together to knit up this sweet little love story. I don't want compare this movies to others of this genre... Cause there simply is no need for that. Love stories comes in all shapes and sizes and every one of us loves and adores the one that best matches their tastes!!!
So give this movie a watch if you want something sugary sweet and wholesome for a while!!! Like at the least you will definitely like it, if not go cuckoo like me in it's sweetness :)

Being a Yang Shi Ze fan and a up-for-any-unique plot I started watching this drama.
So to say I took my time watching this drama and didn't binge watch it at one go because 1. I wanted to enjoy my boy-crush as much as possible
and 2. The story has a very light and calm plot setup.
Nothing really dramatic or thrilling happens in the story to keep the audiences on toes here. But that doesn't mean it's boring. On the contrary it is more like one of those feel good dramas that keeps you hooked every week wanting to go back for more. All in all It is a light-hearted drama with enough comedic shinanigans to make you laugh out loud at the most unholiest times of the night ?.
The only downside I would say is there should have more scenes with animal-human body swaps.. I mean I just can't get enough of those scenes. Esp the cat scenes were rarer to find.. but other than that it is totally a wholesome drama that will keep you fully occupied and thouroughly entertained!
As for acting of course I am satisfied with yang shi ze's. I find that with each new project shi ze is improving exponentially and getting better and better. However with Lin Yi's acting I think there is still room for a little morea improvement. But as this is my first time watching her, so don't need my words at all ?
Anyways long story short if you are looking for a light-hearted drama to pass this taxing time of quarantine, then"My lonely planet" is a definite keep in the TBW list. As it will really give you something to really laugh and ponder for a while :)

Exactly I mean I love Jang ki Yong too... But I am a much older fan of Lee soo ... however it is not about being a fan now. If things do turn up in the way we are thinking it will become way too cruel and an o the character itself. Sure ji cheol's story is sad and everything and his wish to become Hyun bin for once in his life was emotionally understandable for a while. But then to actually make it happen? Like what did Hyun bin do wrong. His character went through all these heartbreaks hardships for what???? It's just too cruel and unkind!!!! I can't lament anymore I need new episodes to prove this theory wrong... K dramas won't be so mercenary to second leads right ?

I swear if Hyun bin gets reincarnated in ji cheol's body i would be too devastated to watch this show... I want Lee so hyuk to be Hyun bin in every life... Come on don't break my heart directors, writers or whoever in power is listening!!!! I really loved a drama after a long long time... Please just don't break my heart. Need ep5 asap to get this bad feeling out of my system once and for all . ???

Any drama that Yang Si Ze is in, is my favourite drama.... Urrgghhh I have fallen for him too fast and too hard!!!! (Shi ze' ah.. wo ai ni ? WO AI NI ? WO AI NIIIIII ???)
You made me insane with your insanely good insane acting in Lovely Sword Girl!!! AND with this one you cemented your position permanently in my heart... Urrrgghhh
And I dont think this madness is leaving me anytime soon.
That being said this drama has its good and bad moments. I felt The story line and some of the characters could have been been fleshed out more. But it is still a very lighthearted enjoyable drama :) not to forget interesting too!
