Who really knows? Sometimes we get truly lucky and they let something like Word of Honor air…….although they very quickly realised what happened and followed up with all sorts of bans.

The director has a lot to answer for from his fixation with lens flare and overexposure to that weird watermark - as if he needs to throw everything at the audience cos they can't tell it's a flashback 🙄. Some weird camera angles as well. Is it any wonder JXN takes so long to suss XW's feelings for her when every time they get close, the director decides to shine big bright blinding lights at them?

No idea - there're links to the drama pages in ZLH's profile page. Zhou Ye + ZLH will be in a modern drama while JT+MLH are in period drama.

He's going to be opposite Zhou Ye and Jing Tian in upcoming dramas - will watch those with great interest. Zhou Ye has been one to watch since she debuted in Word of Honor - great energy and potential, while I think in Jing Tian + ZLH we may get some sizzling scenes, judging from WOL.

Does he even touch the lips? I thought I saw him do it with Dilraba but apparently I imagined it 😄 I can think of so many in cdramaland who ought to sign up for kissing classes by ZLH 🤣

But sets a new standard for period cdramas. Y'all know how disappointing kisses can be in cdramas.............or non-kisses. Case in point: will Allen Ren ever do a proper kiss in this decade? 😄

Actually the pacing is pretty good and the ending is very satisfying for a cdrama, everything wrapped up with a big red bow. Re side characters, the FL does have to go through 2 other MLs before the real thing starts with the ML, but they are all relevant to the story and the ML (ZLH/XW) is involved right from the start. As for the rest, they are quite interesting and bearable except for one rather tropey female villain.

Usually I would agree that cdramas need more brevity and tighter writing but this is one rare case where I felt it was a real pity they didn't do a two parter like LYF as they compressed one arc too much.

This is also the one cdrama this year where BL's character did not get dumbed down or involved in a meaningless piffle like OFL. She remains consistently smart and in character till the end and can stand up to several domineering/threatening characters including the ML.

But most of all, if you give it up now you will have missed one of this year's greatest revelations in ZLH - I will just mention his awesome jawline; electrifying defcon glares and cray cray; his ability to growl "Fouze" in the most sinister way; his OTT jealousy and pettiness; and last but most certainly not least his A+ +💯💯 kissing - he's Mcshemy and Mcsteamy all wrapped up in a totally 🔥🔥package.

And he solved those maths problems in a flash too 😍

You never know - she may also develop a pash for ZLH 😄
