It's actually amazing that we are still hooked on the story given the super irritating way the director was lighting and shooting it............thankfully the cast isn't loco like the director/production team.

Ah well, there was already the problematic rape by YL in tbe previous life which she somehow seemed to get over with no difficulty. This seems to be in the same vein.

Their interpretation of made for each other seems more based on the fact that both of them have dark sides to their characters and can be morally grey. Compare and contrast with ZZ.

No, it was jarring for me too and basically tripping over the line of sexual harrassment/assault. XW's hands are always around her throat ready to strangle her. The 2 do have some complicated dynamics and history (at least from JXN's POV from life no 1). Presumably the point is that neither of them are that pure and nice in the conventional sense?

Seeing it in this day and age, it was very #sexualharassment #metoo for me as well. I feel like the writer/screenwriter is trying to explore complicated dynamics and a romance that isn't straightforward or nice and rosy, but not sure they succeeded.

JXN in her previous incarnation was really no holds barred. I remember she initially considered recruiting XW and flashbacked very briefly to that time when she tried to seduce him, but quickly gave up that idea with a shudder. And now we finally understand why. Truly, these 2 have the most complicated dynamics.

And blowing hot and cold, hot and cold. Is it any wonder JXN's first instinct is to run away?

Let's see they still have to rescue the princess, meet up with YL, reveal his true identity, get his revennge and oh yes, spend some time as captives, pretend to be lovers, and finally really develop their relationship - seriously they couldn't have stretched it out to 40 eps at the very least?

XW is soooo high maintenance - moody, sullen and sarky

There was the touching of her injured back and her bleeding lip was jarring. Firstly, anyone tending to her would have wiped the blood from her mouth. Secondly, the bleed changed length during the scene……going from long to short to long again…..very bad continuity, and the blame rests entirely with the director and production team, cos ZLH and BL were on point.

I had to drop it, just couldn't take it any more after a few eps. What a waste of BL and DW. The scriptwriters should be locked in a room with this director while he plays with his bright lights.

Esp after the disappointing scripts in her other dramas this year, most recently OFL - what a nightmare.
