This is very different. Currently no major angst, but lots of cute romantic moments, action and comedy. A solid couple who communicates with each other for a change! And so adorable together.

The styling for this drama is very good and the makeup as well. They make YH so beautiful in every scene without going overboard with strange makeup shades. And TY and BXS too.

She looks amazing though as the darker/demon persona. Can’t wait to see that part.

The sword arc is not in the novel. The author is involved in the scripting and has introduced new variables like BXS. I can see what she’s trying to do and I think so far it’s working.

Author is involved in the scripting so high hopes for HE. The Legends, LBFAD have HEs……

Author created him for the drama and he has his own backstory etc. but says he will not get in the way of the main couple.

I think that could be due to inaccurate description.

But it does function as a phone antenna…….😂

He says that all the time in the novel too. But if you remember at the beginning of the drama, he couldn't get it out because the shifu had put a seal on it. Then later since he became close to YH he wouldn't willingly take it out, at least not without trying to find an alternative way to fix her heart. And they were told that his dragon power could do that. So he's gotta at least collect all his body parts to recover his power before trying to do that.

It's probably to get the heart protection scale if it's the scene in the OST loop. TY remains incomplete without it. But not sure why he would get it out so early if indeed that's what he does. Cos he still has to get 2 other body parts.

Chinese drama English titles are unfathomable. I also think Heart Protection or Protect Your Heart would have been perfect cos it works on so many levels.

The author is involved in the scripting so in many ways it's in sync with the novel but she's introduced some new variables and changed some details here and there. However these variables do work and are making the drama very funny and enjoyable.

Unclear, TY hasn't mentioned his neidan at all, but as you know he only does that at the end of the novel anyway. His soul seems to be the same as that of the novel.

I suspect she may have his neidan cos she's surprisingly powerful and it may not all be due to the heart protection scale.

I like to think of this almost as an unofficial spinoff of WOH. YH's character is very similar to Gu Xiang's. GX is given another chance as YH to have a shot at love. Not with a rabbit this time, but a dragon.

And besides it's about time we had someone like him to save us from the usual tropes that hobble cdramas.

I think she's basically an ordinary girl who wasn't meant to live long cos of her heart defect. But she has a deep fate with TY. She's saved by his heart protection scale, and in return she saves him including releasing his soul from one of the seals when she's a kid and helping him get over his love PTSD.

Yes she fights - you could even say she's a bit of a gangster - very kickass and slaps bad guys and bullies around. She's also tapping into her own spiritual power now which is surprisingly powerful (may be a combo of TY's heart protection scale and possibly his neidan). She's saved TY several times but he's also saved her.

The 1000-year old dragon Tian Yao was betrayed by his first love, a powerful Taoist cultivator. Twenty years later, we catch up with Yan Hui who has become a disciple of a Taoist sect but is expelled for defending some captive demons. During the fight, her heart protection scale is activated and this also alerts Tian Yao whose soul escaped 10 years ago and is now a weak mortal.

The two meet and at first he lies and schemes to get her to help him get his next body part. But they soon achieve a rapport which eventually leads to love. Although she's reluctant at first, she eventually agrees to help him find all his body parts. This is the story of their journey, a journey where they save each other.
