No Love and All Conspiracy

Sigh. Well, after waiting so long for this to come out, here it is and it has left me unfortunately disappointed to say the least.

I was so looking forward to Jianan in his first role as the ML in a full length drama. The synopsis left me with such good hope and expectations. Yet he is the only thing I can say was a plus in this drama and even he couldn't bring up the rating anymore for me.

For starters, I don't think there was anything particularly wrong with the plot, predictable and cliche in many situations but that doesn't bother me. A classic betrayal, revenge kind of story and in that sense its fine.

However where it completely misses the mark is putting "love" in the title and labeling this as a romance drama. This could be one of the most unromantic romance dramas I have ever seen. Let alone not super strong chemistry, there is only one kiss in the whole drama and it is not one that will have you thinking it about it again and again. A few hugs, but that is not a romance drama, at least in my books. It is such a pity since if you have seen Love Strikes Back, Jianan is very capable of being the perfectly, heart-pounding romantic ML.

Also, just personal opinion but I wasn't too fond of the ost for the entire drama....

All 24 episodes is just everyone double crossing someone else, it is more of a revenge and business drama than anything else. I had a hard time finishing it but pulled through for Jianan.

Ultimately, this Love Conspiracy was No Love and All Conspiracy.
