Watched Up to Episode 10. It's a beautiful drama. Good direction, acting, script, cinematography, music, and so…
also can't understand low ratings.. I was recently disappointed with many South Korean series for the past 4-5 years especially since they went on Netflix and started to collaborate with USA. It's hard now to find one good and well filmed series that still have South Korean spirit. And this k-drama series totally has it! I was mesmerized by how well and vivid it was done! I thought it would have at least score 9, but 7.8 lol it feels like Watchers nowadays don't recognize nor enjoy quality series at all.. good that I havent looked at ratings first but just started watching after seeing the title and cover picture. x)
lol why does such an amazing K-drama have such a low rating? O.o what's nowadays with watchers? shame that some totally untasty and ridiculous new series from South Korea get high rating, while such rare good ones get almost no attention. Is the public sight of view really changed that much and no proper criteria for quality? sad.. For all those OLD k-drama watchers --> these series are MUST! Really amazing one, with fine balance of everything (comedy, romance, mystery, folk, historical, traditional, intrigue, serious and carefree). Good actors that really do well bring the story and atmosphere. And lovely music~ Also concept is really interesting (esp form of interview before each episode). 10/10 ~ Great series also for family watch (thou not for kids!). And nice for New Year holidays watch too!
Heavy communist propaganda in this drama. One is bulls*it. They said communist pursue democracy thats why they…
really shame on yourself for talking rubbish about this amazing series. Full of prejudice and egoism really nowadays capitalistic kids are disgusting. And what propaganda is here? So yu say history is propaganda? lol really it's almost sad as much as funny how stupid your comment is. Also communism was the best thing humanity made - except for discarding religion and oppresing church. At least in communism everyone lived by same standards and were fighting for freedom and work. And nowadays what you have? richies getting all while other suffer in poverty and hunger. Shame on yourself kids for not knowing anything but judging just cause someone put it in your heads and programmed you to believe what's wrong and what's good. Also on top of that - THIS IS HISTORICAL SERIES, and not a fantasy ones. Just like capitalism is promoted in western historical movies of the period cause it was capitalism, in China and Russia and other countries at that time having communism was that and they can't make up some fantasy. Communism saved those people's at that time on their grounds, and it had lead to outcast tiranny. You better should learn history properly instead of bragging rubbish here dear kid.
The same rating range of 99% cdrama in the republican era, and though I’m not interested in trying this one…
sad. if not for this site and checking here ratings of this dorama, I would never know how sick and full of prejudices are nowadays people. Sure capitalism made their children proud continuers nowadays. Btw this series is great, acting is on point, music, story, values and historical background which shows a bit of that hard period in those countries of question (China, Japan). If you give it a try u may sure enjoy if you like serious stories with beautiful nd innocent romance))
At ep 12 rn liking it so far but this series is promoting communism...
so what's wrong with communism? O.o at least everyone lived by the same standrads, there weren't open corruption or hungry people like now where someone keeps showering in obscenity and money while others die out of hunger and poverty. Really kids nowadays, don't even know politics but brag here.. ccc
Starting from this drama, i skip all police Cdrama. Police lead in cdrama portrayed very clean which is fake.…
lol you don't know anything about life dear xD Kdrama more realistic? where? XDDD You sure have some double standards and prejudices and that is not okay. 1st Chinese police IT IS mostly clean, and system tries to maintain the best without corruption. WHile South Korea, big NO for Seoul, but for other cities police works fine. And Kdrama portrays police too dramatic and superficial.
Really delicious series! As one old Asian drama watcher must say that was a great C-drama by all its means! Cast, scenes, plot, atmosphere, music, acting, and storyline - all on point! From the 1st till the last episode it kept me in drive mode~ And it showed really good messages and various types of people's characters and its great development. As for FL x ML chemistry - it was fantastic! I haven't seen such a MATURE romance for a while. It grows slowly but steadily, it has platonic touch but also hidden deep passion. It puts not just love and desire on the front row, but other much more important values for being called good romance and good love development.^^ This dorama is fine for a watch with the whole family, it doesn't have obscenity, it's decent and graceful but also scheming, dramatic and heartfelt. And here FL is a rare example of one really interesting, strong, smart and good woman who doesn't make drama on an empty spot and cherishes good values. She puts more important things for her on the front page, she is responsible (and life made her that way) and doesn't jump into the claws of pleasure. ML was one great young man with his own character and great values and grew up through the story and with the help of FL. Due to life circumstances, all characters grew up into their own ''images'', some learnt from mistakes some haven't, and some maintained their stance, some neglected values, and some grew up putting behind wrongs. The actors did a great job portraying everyone. While watching this series for the best experience you need to understand characters and their upbringing and carefully dig into the story and its flow. Everything has meaning here, so if someone comes just to watch candy drama - must say not for such watchers. Sure will rewatch it since the ending was perfect and it didn't leave bittersweet or ugly emotions. I really enjoyed every minute of this amazing creation, and hope others who want some good XX-century Chinese drama will enjoy it too as much~ p.s. MUSIC gosh music was so on point <3 so classy with a bit of melancholy and nostalgy, delicate and storming as the main charaters of this story ~
Lol, there is such an extreme view of ML's performance. Half really like it and half hate it. Either way his acting…
why they should not have ended up together? O.o they are both perfectly fit for each other. For those who watched with paying attention to the characters and storyline and plot going - this would be out of question. But those who look some candy romance and stereotype out of couple, sure they won't like such smart and interesting combo.
I've been thinking about watching for months, but I'm still hesitating because there are too many episodes. I…
give it a try~ this is one of the best series I watched about XX c China with really interesting and great FL. She is smart and good, without unecessary drama and crying etc. ML is great too, they both have their principles and fight for the right things in their best way. Both are smart and it was a pleasure to watch them go through the story)
After seeing people's comments I'm scared to watch it because I don't want to break my heart. I haven't found…
You won't break your heart x) not worry~ This is really good series! Cast, plot, music, scenes, atmosphere - everything is great. It is logical, you won't have unecessary drama and stupid behaving of leads. Everyone has its own role and it leads to fine ending ~
ok as many recommended me to watch this since I made hiatus on xianxia dramas, I tried. The start was good, enticing, and beautiful, BUT around 7th ep it started to be repetitive and boring. Watched up to 12th ep and can't see anything outstanding about this drama besides a nice cast and effects. Compared to other great xianxia series like Ashes of love or Destiny & Love or Novoland 2nd season etc, this is too primitive and cheap / for kids. We don't have growth of characters. Emphasis is made only on the romance of the main couple which is quite onesided to the whole concept of story that is introduced at the start. Scenes of main couple's ''fluffy moments and love exchanges'' are too long and too recent - it becomes really annoying later when you want to hear about the story line actually and the other characters. Too many unlogical and unexplained things in storyline which are just quickly slapped in and out of the screen time (about war, about the sacred tree, about demon king, about Dragon ruler suddenly coming just for the party after serious war where all mighty gods died). Other characters are just casted away as quickly as those are introduced, and there's no evolving of their story, just occasional appearance here and there which is sad. Overall, even if I am only at 12th ep, can't find anything to keep me go on. I love Yang Zi, but these series aren't done interestingly to watch, especially for those who want one serious and enticing xianxia story and not just romance loveydovey/dramatic sponge.
Wonderful Soundtrack by this composer! Especially historical series are so beautifully coloured by the right music of hers. Does\ someone know where I can read the full biography of Dong Ying Da? *(Date of birth etc)
my freaking.... I wasn't immersed in some drama for a long time. This one is - a gem! From the story to the characters, effects, visuals, scenes, and wonderful beautiful perfect music. From the 1st to the last episode there weren't any plotholes, the characters were amazing and the actors portraying them! I believed in every moment! And such an unusual way of bringing the story in the 1st half of the series reminded me of literature from Arabic cultures - where the story is usually told from HEr and HIs side of view. This goes to my favourite doramas for sure will rewatch this golden flower!
absolutely not boring and not slow. it's mature and beautiful, slice of life paced mixed with wonderful fantasy. each episode has its charm and continuing of the story of showing the characters. it's not for kids so if you are underaged it may be boring since you can't understand the beauty of each moment of this drama. And if you are searching for only firefull action and attractions = this is not the place for you.
secondary couples were: love- Qing Yao & Yun Feng (the Doctor foxie and goddess and Tian Zun’s disciple); jokeful - Si Ming & Shi San (Star lord and mermaid housekeeper of Fuyun); onesided - Yuan Tong & Du Yu (general of Yuan family & lord of the Eastern sea); onesided - Kai Yang & Yu Li (Nine Heavens General & Medicine Lord's daughter);onesided - Bao Qing & Jing Xiu (Princess of Shan Ling & Royal Advisor of Shan Ling); onesided - Jing Xiu & Ling Xi; onesided - Bao Qing & Qin Yuan (Princess of Shan Ling & Zhong Hao's adopted son).
For all those OLD k-drama watchers --> these series are MUST! Really amazing one, with fine balance of everything (comedy, romance, mystery, folk, historical, traditional, intrigue, serious and carefree).
