:D That's an interesting story, I joined imdb when I was already well into dramas. I started watching because I started learning japanaese 6 years ago. I studied the language until I passed the JLPT test but then had to leave it behind...but the drama fever stayed. It's a good way to keep recalling some of the language structures. Started with Hana Yori Dango for some reason, it was just the first random drama i picked. I was really into it because I liked the main character's determination to not get bullied. The Korean version made much less of an impression. To this day I tend to prefer Japanese dramas over Korean ones since Korean tend to annoy me with their overinsistence on glamour. They end up being pretentious, but I have enjoyed a number of Korean dramas and contnue to enjoy them. What's drawing your interest at the moment?

Not just yet, Orange Days is not my top priority at the moment, somehow I wasn't able to get into it last time I tried. The first episode of Hanzawa is really good, sets the pace very well. But lone fighting against ruthless egoistical bankers can get tiresome. I wonder what's Kitaoji Kinya's role is going to be, he seems to be sa potential ally for Hanzawa because it seems to me like his position is getting more dire due to Asano's greed and Asano has too many supporters. I dare say Hanzawa is showing a lot of spirit. I'd ghate to see that spirit broken. All in all, this is grippinng from the get-go.

some fluttering is good for balance :P Yeah, I thought it was an uneven romcom. I think I desperately tried to like it because Jackie Chan is just so lovely and there were some funny moments bit I felt it didn't click on the whole.

hahaha, okay, Rhett, I got it. ;-) My only interest in this matter is that the franchise is likely to go downhill, as he doesn;t seem to have as much heart for making film as he may be feeling forced to do it, but maybe his future films will prove everyone wrong. it doesn;t matter much with other talented directors such as Hosoda being active but it's like with Disney- Walt had a heart for movies, it can't be said about a lot of later productions. How did you make the discovery of Asian soap operas/mini series?

I guess maybe it can be a bit of an enticement but Joo Woo Sung has a very very small guest role in Good life Arigatou Papa too. I agree, he is a vision and is able to capture emotions in a way that sends your heart a fluttering. He was one of my first serious Korean actor crushes ever since Padam Padam. I saw a moment to remember only after that drama.

:) I don't think I would be able to name one favourite either. Mamoru Hosoda? Wolf Children springs to mind- an utterly lovely movie. Also Summer Wars was a pretty strong title for me. Have you seen Miyazaki's latest, or is it not available yet since it is a pretty recent offering The Wind Rises, I mean. I also wonder what you think about Miyazaki's son possibly taking over the legacy.

Well I like hearing Asians speaking English, I also have quite a few Chinese friends around here and their English is just lovely, it has an accent but I don't know they are able to make it graceful abnd sweet. It's just that it doesn't always work in movies for me. I was just going to respond on the thread feed but Jung Woo Sung is quite magnetic overall :P Haven't you watched A Moment to Remember?

przypomina mi sie zjawa z Tronu Krwi - czy ten motyw dotyczy tez mezczyzn, te rozpuszczone wlosy? Swoja droga dla mnie Tron Krwi pozostaje doskonalym przykladem adaptacji kulturowej tekstow, albo z drugiej strony sa po porstu takie dziela ktorych uniwersalizm wpisuje sie dosknale w kazda kulture.

Hi! You liked Season of Good Rain? How was it? I admit I tried to watch it but I sort of got put off by all the English in there. It was a looong time ago when I attempted it, I was young and naive lol, I am planning to get back to it. And how did you like Gorgeous?

Hi there. Nice to meet you. Thank you for your friend request. Princess Monoke is your profile, it was the film that started my obsession with anime movies, though Studio Ghibli in particular. Just like Crouching Tiger was the first film that introduced me to Chinese movies, I guess my interest in Asian things started from there, though I really wasn't used to all the flying. What's your favourite anime? do you watch series too, or just movies?

Well, there is just a month left so we just have to wait and see. Too bad for Sakai though. He really liked that character, I hope he doesn't feel cheated by the screenwriters now. I do, yes. Japanese family dramas are some of the best I've seen, they get the balance of feelings just right.

I will likely continue to peek until I make a decision for myself. I do wonder where it;s going to lead but I don;t like the breaking of one good team just for the sake of drama. Well I started watching Good life in October but I went on to get too busy but this weekend since I was resting I thought I'd finish it along with several other dramas- May Queen and another family drama, Oh Dad. Good life is such a tear jerker though. I like the point it's making though, love is nost just aboit giving. Giving and rceiving a child's love is just as important for a parent as giving it. Therefore facing problems together is important. I guess I'm just very family-oriented.

Title May Queen Spoiler
I liked the side characters, especially the Uncle Jung woo and that Aunt he was courintg as well as Hae Joo's…
However, one MAJOR gripe I have with the writer is that he offended or rather oversimplified something about Philippines. How could they say a lot of Koreans are killed in the Philippines? What was that? Any nationality can be killed anywhere in the world because crime/human trafficking/racism are unfortunately ripe anywhere in the world Is there any solid reason why the writer would say that? How can you be so irresponsible as a writer and say things like that, when they can be seen as offensive? Any such unsubstantiated and biased obversimplifications and judgments shouldn't be allowed. Maybe I'm overreacting but it just seems unsubstantiated and very offernsive.
