Hi Edian. Yeah, I still havce three very busy weeks ahead of me. After that I will be more free to do stuff. Yeah, I liked Oh Dad, especially because the father was so strict but so clearly caring deeply. Kind of patrairchal drama but not bad at all. What are you watching?

I'm into something romantic. I need some romance lol. I will watch that drama though, but perhaps not immediately as I'm in a mood for something else. I will probably watch that when I return at the end of December. I just watched a family drama, Oh Dad.\ (2000) I liked it.

This one is a little histronic bit I slowly just really got to love the dad and feel the close atmosphere between the family. It's not overly melodramatic, more like a bit of slice of life family drama. Right now I'm in the mood for something romantic. I need to watch a little or I'll go crazy. I may watch Densha at some point, especially since ypou like it so much :)

lol, how do you know about Tonbi? Tonbi is my number 1 pick for japanese drama of 2013. A story in the veing of Studio Ghibli and disappointingly overlooked for Japanese TV Awards. It's my top favourite japanese drama ever. And only Japanese do fantastic family dramas like this.

Well I'm a bot on a tight scheduke at the moment so not many dramas but I just finished another lovely japanese family drama. I love those.

Title Oyaji
I liked the dad here he was tough but caring deeply. I just loved when the hints of caring appeared in his face, it's noticeable with good acting. Drama can be a little histrionic at times, though. The story followed the ups and downs of the family, how they all tried to find themselves. If you choose a dream, you have to persevere no matter what. The most important thing is the heart. But aww the final; episode was so touching for the dad, aww. He's a good guy and a good dad.

Yes, exactly that. I get very distracted by the fact that it's so fake but well they couldn't help it. I like watching old movies but I mostly find myself navigating towards old american movies. Somehow I haven't yet watched very pld Japanese movies aside from severla Kurosawa films, the obvious choice. what would you consider good films to start exploring classic and lesser known japanese cinema?

Hi Winnie :) Glad you liked it. That's what Japanese dramas do and should continue to do best, instead of emulating Korean dramas. Right now I"m too busy for watching dramas. I'll be back next month. So what's next in your line-up??

Because the ending implied it could be anyone.I thought him staring into the camera was a great way oif pulling the audience into a sense of wonder. I love that. In general I love open endings like in Winter the Wind Blows so a film like MoM gets points just for an ending like that. I also think it's maddedning to know a murderer is free somewhere and the ending conveys a sense of that.

That's the thing, nothing. I depserately want to watch something but maybe in a month I will be able to do so eventually.. I want to check out marry him if you dare.

It's just that they don't stand out quite as much as they would in the past. It's the same for "action" scenes in old american movies. IO can always tell what's fake, to the point it gets on my nerves. Much as I liked "The Great Race" with Nathalie Wood and Jack Lemmon, the driving scenes did get on my nerves a bit but the film was overall quite fun. I wouldn't watch it twice though because the comedy is not really to my taste but it;s just an example. I guess if the story is really good it won't be much of a problem but the story has to be really really good
