Sure! It's a pretty clever film so I hope you like it. It's refreshing to see the protected male species do some balancing to all our female chit-chat around here on MDL, so hope to see your recommendations and reviews more. Also, thank you for the friend request, it's nice to meet you.

Hi, Skye. Yes, I noticed that much later; at first for some reason the search didn't show it, apologies for duplicating.

Also, the setting couldn't be better for the film; it's so very liminal. They realise that there is really no wall between them, omce they cross that almost magical, although always political border- they are brothers there, sharing the same things and having fun, but division becomes even more acutely felt once the governmental elemnet and intrusion is reintroduced to the story and they are forced to go back each to their side. The alternation between flashbacks and investigation is very clever. It's really very poignant.

That last shot closing the film was particularly touching as it encapsulated the entire film. I'm very glad I watched it and thank you for recommending it, Nina.

Hello! Well you were quite right about JSA, it's a interesting piece of a film The most easily noticeable thing is def the no man's land and how it becomes the place where it is the human, not north and south, not the political, not the divided and the warmth of friendship above and between boundaries. At the same time, how tragic that friendship is and its results and implications of what they do and how their friendship is really quite metaphorical for the relationship between the two countries and very well portrays the tensions, oh so much tension there! It's a movie laden with meaning and it's also very tricky and I admit I'll have to rewatch it to better appreciate it. I liked the use of camera too, especially how it alternated between the two sides, sometimes in this strikingly rotational, fluid movement that shows both wholeness and division, I really appreciated that.

which are never quite the same, in any single individual. And I'm quite fascinated by the fact that even given one area, thepretically common interest, there is so much variation. By the way, another recommendation you may want to check out Joint Security Area movie more about friendship in no man;s land, where divisions o not matter, all that matters is the human and the friendship, a pretty good film, again set in the borderland between North and South, it's quite interesting.

during semester. lol. Arabis is an interesting one and can be useful. I do seak Spanish myself and started to learn japanese three years ago. Had some German at school but I was never too fond of the language, which is rather strange considering the affinity to English. I am now thinking of picking up Chinese, going back to japanese and yes I want to Korean understand dramas without subtitles lol, because I"m a bit impatient someitmes lol. MDL can reall cuh you in, and especially when aside from listing and forums there is also the question of adding missing thingds. I can;t help but add an item or two if I see it missing but then I go on drama wiki and discover that a lot more things are missing from the database here and it makes me want to add them one by one. This interest thing brings us back to what we discussed sometime earlier about each person having their own unqie tastes

worse at Heathrow, really? interesting, lol. I guess it varies from flght to flight, once they told me to take off my shoes, other time they didn't. Have you travelled much around the States or someplace else aside from that quick trip to London? I agree, and exploring on your own is vital, when you can get the cance to get lost in a city and just discover it on your own, see it for what it is. Not just the pretty sights, the ordinary sights. Lol, I know. I've been sitting at home like a hermit for the most part so coming back here is like time has once again begun to flow, whike it was frozen while back home. though this a really traitorous feeling, to be honest, since it lulls you into a false sense of relaxation, when just sometimes there is this extra work that could use to be done during that "extra" frozen time. So I fully understand a sense of guolt over watching dramas

Lol. Well Spanish is useful, especially out there, I believe. So you speak the three major languages, Englihsh, Spanish and french, or any others? Is there any other language you'd like to pick up, given the chance? Yes, I'm now back here and resuming duties lol. I'm not quite sure about licensing either around here, I'll have to find out, it's not something I've given much thought to yet. Lol, DJ, just realised that we've beebn having a very long and constant conversation since we started chatting, with lots of interesting exchanges, very glad of it Truth be told I signed up in the frst place because the though of making drama lists was appealing, but I"m not sure how did I find this- I noticed the thing on DC much later. Now it's turning to quite amind-enchancing experience given the people around. And just what brought you over here?

:-) Oh, it is a tearjerker all right, right from somewhere in the middle throughout the end. and the two leads give memorable performance, also directing and pacing is very nice. It's well developed. But the ending didn't leave me feeling very depressed; rather, it showed me a glimmer of hope and how true devotion can be Life, death, happiness, grief, it all comes together in this film. The movie has a lot of charm, also enhanced by lovely cinematography - is well made and a good OST. It's really the full package here.

It sure is. I dont think we can or should close ourselves within one romantic sentimental genre because it's limiting, you;re quite right and I really agree with you. Viewing other things has also the advantage that it lets you gain new take on things.

Ok, will do. Most often I do prefer the sentimental happy end but I am def not averse to other endings and other approaches. Variety is the spice of life, too. I will try to watch it as soon as I'm in the mood for something heavier. I appreciate your explanation :)

I am so freaking mad at Ji Na right now. She is accusing Kang Chil of murdering her mother for no reason. She…
I do agree, however, that what we see that drinking hateful person do to Kang Chil as a boy was just terrifying, but police men and security sometimes do use excessive sadistic bruatlity, which is why I find this convincving. Also no one believing Kang chil and treating him like dirt is what we do to others, by being judgmental so it's also real .

ok, point taken. and I can def see your point. I agree insofar as the doc is indeed a selfish character. I didn't like it whe she didn't want to tell anyone she was dating him, I found that pathetic. As far as everything else, as Kang chil said, Not even her mother fully belierved him, and I think this is supposed to be a part of the remoresfulness of our judgmentality. But I am willing to see whether something might improve. This is a drama, we can expect a 180 degree change, though I am also inclined to believe that at the next impulse she will change her mind again, and the poot Kang chil is already hurting enough. I think the single mother is somewhat more likeable. That father person is incredibly hateful...so do you think that the death of his brother is only an excuse for abusive behaviour?
