I liked the ep 3 better. Busan wasn't that interesting and his mom annoys me. What a useless woman.
Well, we have to disagree :) I love Teapung's mom, she might be a woman of her time, being a housewife and not very business-smart, but she still has a lot of love, warmth and lightness to give her son, despite going through very tough time after her husband's death. She stays positive in a silly cute way, and inadvertently gives Taepung a lot of life advice that helps him. Like when she talked about how her husband's office space accumulated traces of time passing, which helped Taepung to figure out that the textile factory has gone bankrupt in ep 2. Or when in ep 3 she said she would like them to live honestly and not to run away from paying their debts.
Ep 3 was a little off for me in terms of writing and pacing, but I am glad that in ep 4 it picked up a lot for me. I loved everything about it. Teapung getting a little cheeky revenge (which was actually smart writing), the fun Busan trip and some drunk shenanigans on the beach, cute moments between mom and son. Teapung's as a character is just too damn cute. Excited for the next week.
I have to wonder why the ml's dad kept such a incompetant manager employed? And why the ml wants to keep him knowing…
My understanding is that manager has very specific skill that is valuable for a trading business, that is being able to communicate well with various people and knows the logistics well. We were shown how he is good at small talk or when to offer small gift etc. But apparently he is not good with legal stuff and numbers. Each of the employees seem to have their own value for the company, but they are not all-rounders.
Haha. The Red Sleeve was the smash hit and King the Land was the lowkey hit though. He won a daesang for The Red…
Yeah, The Red Sleeve was his great coming out party in Korea. Just remembering the number of advertisements and endorsements Junho got after The Red Sleeve. He was filming only ads for at least half a year non-stop ))
2 episodes in and I am really enjoying this so far. Visually pleasing cinematography, vibrant 90s art design, great characterisation with no excessive dialogues, amazing acting all around and very well done OST. Overall a very well produced and directed drama. The writing is good not amazing, but it compliments all the other elements so far. I hope the writing continues to be strong or, fingers crossed, even gets better throughout the whole run. Still if this keeps up, this type of slow burn drama with this feel good vibe and subtle (by Kdrama standards) sense of humour and acting tone is perfect for the 16-episode long format and it would be a joy to watch week to week.
As a fan of Junho's performance in The Red Sleeve (and other his earlier dramas) I am loving this project for him. I could not get into his character in KTL, I was just seeing Junho, not a separate distinct character. In Typhoon Family he seems to fully embody this young, naive and a little silly man with a pure heart, who is still figuring out his path in life for himself and his family.
If I have to be nitpicky about TF I am a little unsure about the father and son villain duo. They seem a little too caricature and lack nuance, but hopefully we see something more from them.
I am hoping this drama will be Junho's return to form after the disappointment that was KTL. I miss him doing more serious acting ever since The Red Sleeve.
I'm sorry to say it outloud. But after King land, i'm not sure if i can handle to see another brainless show,…
There is a source material for Cashero and the setting is comedic and not the smart kind. I can only hope that they choose a good scriptwriter to rework it into something better.

Cashero, coming after KTL, will be two comedies in a row for him. Hence the continuous perception of brainlessness. I will admit comedy is not my favourite genre and I personally don't feel like Junho's best acting skills lie in that direction. He does well enough in the genre, but in my personal view he is truly exceptional when he does more dramatic roles.
Genuine question but why do they still mention 2PM whenever they talk abt Junho? Not that i have anything against…
Er, Lee Junho is actually a very active idol. He is currently in the middle of his solo arena tour in Japan and has just released a new Japanese song called 'Can I' (you can watch his new MV here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVar8xIk60Q).
His group, 2PM, is also hosting a sting of concerts this fall (in Seoul in September, with all tickets already sold out, and Japan in October).
I loved episode 5. The best for me yet. It was an interesting drama so far, but episodes 5 finally elevated it into something really great and fun. Gu Won and Sarang budding relationship is the cutest and I cant' stop laughing and giggling at their antiques. π I am really rooting for them, those adorable weirdos.
I also love watching Gu Won gradually change from episode to episode. While the idea of a chaebol in a romcom is not new this drama is giving us a new spin on this trope and I really appreciate it. Gu Won was such a typical chaebol ML in the first 2 episodes, very unrelatable and hard to sympathise with, but look at him now! βΊοΈ
Lee Junho outstanding acting is also a big reason for Gu Won's character becoming more and more captivating. You can feel all the emotions that Gu Won is going through while tying to come to terms with his crush on Sarang and try courting her. I can't wait to see more from Gu Won, but also really want to see Sarang fall of him as well.
I'll be honest, I wasn't vibing with the first two episodes of KTL, but episode 3 felt like a shift into something good, with more emotional scenes and finally Gu Won unfreezing as a character, plus I had a few good laughs (the photoshopped smile ππ).
I can also feel the chemistry between the two leads and I can't wait to see how their relationship changes with emotional ups and downs on both sides.
I was a little apprehensive about Yoona before the drama, but she seems to fit in seamlessly here as Sarang and play off Junho well in their scenes together.
I started the first episode. It's an ok watch but honestly why does the ML seem incompetent? The only thing he's…
They are setting him up for major character development. Even the actor who plays the ML highlights this aspect about his character in all the promo interviews.
I also find ML (Gu Won) bland and arrogant with just a hint of decent in these first two episodes, but I can't wait to see the change, because Lee Junho is a great actor and can surely pull it off.
This is a very beautifully directed drama. Very nice editing and flow, visual art design and background music, acting also seem to be top notch. But I am not sure if I am too invested into the story yet. Ngl the main characters relationship is a little off to me. I can't understand what the FL found so appealing about the boy/man to sacrifice everything she is and has to chase him like a stalker. And the grooming aspect of it all is kinda icky..
Mixed feelings. Jun-Ho is a treat in those 3-piece suits but I can't get a hang of his character. Sa Rang built…
I had the same misgivings about GuWon (and Sarang to a lesser extent). I mean they are obviously setting them both up for major character growth, but as a starting point this blandness is a little too extreme to make us sympathise with either of them. I expect we will get more depth with further episodes.
thatβs what I came to say. not my kind of drama. lol Very disappointing when one of the leads already has a…
haha I guess they have to put in all the possible wrenches they can think of to fill in those long 16 episodes for a drama solely focused on romance π

I am the opposite. It's refreshing to see a female character who is close to 30 and is not expected to be virginal and too innocent. This justifies the casting choices for the genre usually reserved for younger actors.
