According to the latest reports the drama will air around June. Such a long wait. 😭 They better make it really good with such a long post-production period.
Surprisingly it was a nice watch. Maybe not the best in terms or acting or main couple chemistry, but the plot, themes and issues covered were refreshing and mature.
I am sorry, but not having Lee Junho (from 2PM) on this list is a bit of a crime. 😅😂 The guy is a natural talent in acting and is constantly challenging himself with different types of roles. Just this year he won a Baeksang Award for Best Actor in a TV drama (The Red Sleeve), beating other veteran Korean actors in the industry and becoming the first male idol to achieve such a feat.
And yes, he is still very much active in kpop since Junho is one of the rare idols who are multitalented in various fields, having very strong vocals, amazing dancing (his fan cams go viral not for nothing) and doing production and composing for his own songs. Just this August he successfully carried out several solo concerts in Korea and Japan.
I had really high expectations for this drama, but alas... The beginning and the premise was very encouraging, but honestly, for most of the drama I was feeling like my intelligence was being insulted. Some obvious reveals kept being spoon fed to me and dramatic emotional moments were so exaggerated and overdone I was feeling more bored than sentimental. When you want to scream at your TV about characters stupidity so much, it's not a good sign.
The cast looks excellent, but I don't think I enjoy this screenwriter much. I barely managed to finish Manager Kim and this one is even a tougher watch so far. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.
Now , I know why I am strangely attracted to Junho.I am not the type of female who is obsessed with male stars…
omg, I never thought about it, but now I can't unseen it. I am also a big Naruto nerd and I was always a sucker for his wilfulness, determination and ambition, watching him grow from an underdog to a competent and cool guy who still retained his goofiness. Junho even has a bit of nine-tail fox inside of him as well. 😂
Not a fan of Lee Junho doing a romcom after being in an excellent, award-worthy drama like TSR, but I will still be tuning in, just for him. Praying for good script with good characterisation and dialogues and skilful director, since the premise doesn't sound too exciting. It would also help if it gets picked up by Netflix.
I didn't like it, it was very predictible for me, maybe because I am into thriller/suspense things for years.…
Exactly my sentiment. Characterisations are so basic and unappealing that I didn't get invested into any of the main leads. And while they don't have to be all likeable for me to enjoy a drama at least give me some interesting dialogues and more nuance, but alas... When you don't care if any of them live of die in the games the whole plot gets tedious and boring. I have never fast forwarded a drama so much. The last episode at least had some intrigue and emotional resonance. But still, characterisations and motives of the characters were still pretty basic and unoriginal, even to the very end.
Congratulations to Lee Junho for winning 34th Korean PD Award for Best Actor! It's a great honour to be recognised by the industry's directors and producers for your acting skills, despite having the idol tag attached to your name. I hope the TRS team gets nominated for Baeksang awards next!
No, this is so unhealthy. It's so unhealthy how I love this drama so much, to the point I will make some excuse…
Girrrl, I feel you. It's been over a month since it's finished and I still can't watch any other dramas. They all bore me to tears or acting doesn't grab me the way it did in the Red Sleeve - it made me feel like I lived through San's and Deokim's lives with them. Now I am just following Junho (who's personal life story is practically a drama waiting to be filmed as well 😁) and rely on his ability to chose his next project as engaging as TRS was.
He spoiled me for other kdamas ever since The Red Sleeve.
