Title Curtain Call
I know they are trying to push fake mun sung and seyeon together as they are the leads, but jin suk is for me the stand out female - loved seeing her stomp into the hotel to sort out the silly men.

The older brother wife and sfl can be besties lol. I like both of their characters and sfl is just savage lol.…
I'm conflicted as Geum Soon obviously loves her new grandson to bits and he is really affectionate, but I just feel so bad for the real Mun Sung - he probably had a horrible childhood and maybe he became a gangster because it was the only way he could escape north Korea

I really liked Steven Noh in Pachinko - he played the good guy vicar and was brilliant. I hope he won't be stuck in baddie roles in kdramaland forever. However. in curtain call, he's the most enigmatic character - is he good guy who turned bad, bad guy or somewhere in the middle? I hope we see more of him, and he makes it to S Korea.

I think 2ML will be a parasite a pain in the ar.... so far the 2FL doesn't annoys me she is a young girl, she…
Yeah, I usually prefer the older actresses, like Ha Ji Won, but weirdly I'm feeling younger female character Yoon Hee has a bit more personality than Se yeon at this point. I hope Se Yeon character becomes less goody goody and more depth in the future because Ha Ji Won is such an awesome actress. The flashbacks to the 50s with HJW are really good though....

Poor Yoon hee hasn’t done anything wrong other then having crush on ML and I am reading comments from ladies…
I like Yoon Hee. It's refreshing to have a young female character with smarts and sass who can handle herself. The nice but dim ML would have been nailed by now, if Yoon Hee hadn't been there to help him out.

Wow, what a great article. I had no idea there were so many different types of kawaii. Can I just ask is the cute behaviour we see in female leads in k drama and c drama because of the influence of the kawaii culture from Japan?

I love his voice too! I loved him in Empress Ki as a kind of male bimbo Emperor.

Timely article considering many have dropped dramas where Esther Yu was in because of her voice!
Lol, there must be some female actors out there with nice, deep voice too! Any suggestions?

amazing drama the themes are hard to watch but its a must see
Agreed - kudos to this production for covering these difficult topics. It was a quality drama all around. I hope it allows people to empathise more with victims....

I don't think he is the real grandson, they just casted them like that only.
I agree. If you look at the scene where the first son dies - it is by the seaside and there's a red light in the distance. Could that be the lighthouse the grandma built? Another mystery is about the real grandson who is a smuggler. If he knows how to smuggle himself into China, has criminal contacts and has money - couldn't he bribe someone to get him out of China? I have a feeling he wants to reunite with his granny but there must be something else keeping him in North Korea.

Only thing I found positive from about the first episode of this drama was how great the cast was.The script was…
About the script - there were some clunky moments with the dialogue, but haneul's scenes seemed a bit more natural - maybe some of his dialogue was improvised as he did actually live that life in real life. I agree the hotel parts looks a bit dated - but then it's a matter of taste. The director has actually directed stuff like Saimdang, which was very artistic and beautiful to look at, so maybe it's a budget issue

I enjoyed the first episode - the story had a lot of human interest, was well acted and left me eager to find out what happens next. I felt for the real grandson - it was heart-breaking that he ended up in that situation ....
