My criticism is that if these spoilers are reliable, they're really making Ye Tingyan weak and putting him through…
making Linghe's characters weak and injured/unconscious for many eps... this is nothing new. then other fandoms wonder why we criticize the dramas script and acting as if we're hating on his co-stars.
The wigs and makeup look pretty bad too; like linghe is handsome and can pull off anything but his wig in this…
I agree. imagine getting zlh cast as ML at the height of his popularity and then give him such ugly wigs/make up look. I mean he still looks good but he could look amazing just with a better wig. like obviously his hair should be tied up as a minister but even so there are many better wigs. for example I really like Li Yunrui's tied up wig in Tigers sniff the rose.
obviously plot and cast are most important but costumes especially for historical idol dramas are a big draw and usually 99% of them have at least decent looking costumes so this is disappointing. how is this a S+ production?
Fang si zhe is a good costume designer looking at his previous works but i don't know what he's doing with this drama. costumes are so ugly. they look like curtains/blankets especially for male characters.
yesss so an enemies to lovers plot would be good maybe they fight each other and both are super powerful. I would love a male centric wuxia or xianxia drama with little or no romance too but they're hard to get and his agency doesn't try to secure big projects for him 😕
yeah enough with the politics/minister/warrior looks for now. with his insane visuals we deserve to see him play more immortal/otherworldly characters.
I just finished the novel and it was great. I've read many cnovels but a lot of them are way too long that makes them draggy but this had really good pacing and not one boring chapter. very interesting and somewhat new premise too. I felt like it was written to be made into a drama.
now I'm curious can someone who has followed reuters and seen spoilers tell me if it's a faithful adaptation or they've changed a lot of the plot?
Exactly, I was wondering the same but I think this is some sort of diversion technique to mislead the reuters…
maybe idk about tag sheets stuff and what scenes they're filming each day so maybe there's quite a lot that they're filming indoors together but when I see outside scenes reuters they're usually at different sets.
I wonder how many scenes FL and ML even have together... 27 days of filming and they've mostly been filming in separate groups. usually their arrival time doesn't match and one arrives earlier and leaves early, while the other comes later and stays late. not saying there's any problem between them but it's strange because in the novel they had so many scenes together where they would secretly meet up and their romance was the biggest focus even more than the revenge.
everyone starts getting big projects from one point. though I wish this was directed by an experienced director hopefully it turns out good. his short drama hard to find was directed well imo
