Although the overall premises of the two don’t really match, other than the enemies to lovers trope, they both feel to me like they’re a part of South Korean BLs that you just don’t see anymore. They broke expectations and brought about light in the dark. I miss the South Korea BLs that took risks and chances and I hope they will find their way back from whatever this short-form nonsense they seem to have become in recent days. If only….
What starts off as innocent and unspoken can become the loudest sound in your life. Love comes for you no matter if you are prepared or capable of reciprocating. Any youthful love story will reach hurdles that are either capable of overcoming or knocking you down. They say ignorance is bliss, but the ignorance of youth doesn’t always apply. Until you learn what matters and how much you should spare to care, it’s impossible to turn a blind eye.
You have to appreciate or maybe just recognize how beautiful love stories can also come from darkness. I don’t necessarily have enough information to exactly make the correlation between these two series, but the vibes are definitely there. Finding healing after trauma would be anyone’s wish, for the one to follow the other. People can break you, but others can also help heal you.
