This is that show that is a MA guilty pleasure. I’ll never be bored by the amount of people who will come onto MDL to give a show a low rating when they could have most obviously read the tags before watching. You were already here, dummy. Fcking prudes. Be better.
I love the word “bewitched”. The idea that one moment can change irrational thinking into becoming the most obviously rational reaction. There’s a moment in the first scene of ep.1, when Dojin removes his jacket and loosens his tie, then looks over his shoulder at Seon U whose eyes are just locked in; he’s utterly captivated. Seon U might try to guard himself at first, but the floodgates have opened, there’s no going back. The boy is whipped.

Why does ep.3 feel so weird? It didn’t seem like anyone was really all that sad about Anda’s death. Where was the impact? I felt nothing. And now the rest of this show I’m supposed to believe these guys want nothing more than retribution for a friend I barely saw them shed a tear for? This might be a hard sell for me.
Maybe it’s because of all the JBLs coming out with a 2nd season recently, but I would totally watch another season of this. The scarcity of Taiwan BLs lately has been a noticeable dent in the BLs I enjoy watching. This could be a fun continuation where Chia Kai uses his threads to help police investigations with Ta Wei. Superhero kind of shit. For the greater good BL style.

AI is the real enemy of so many people, it’s a job-stealing leach. So I can get why people hate on AI, but I actually liked the way it was used in this show. I get both sides, but also, if you don’t like it just don’t watch it.
I’m liking this. It’s fun and something I’m looking forward to watching more of. I’ve liked all the JBL remakes of the other Thai series better, just putting that out there. JBLs have become my bias wrecker. My absolute love began with Thai BLs, but they’ve become so homogenized and commercialized that I barely watch them anymore. JBLs got it going on though. They never fail me. Even the considered worst of them is still better than half of what’s out there.

The frustration is so real! I think that’s why this is so good. You can’t really love or hate a character unless you really believe what the actor is selling you in that role. These guys are doing such a good job because I really feel for these characters. Both the good & bad.

I sincerely dislike flashbacks. When you said how this story doesn’t have to rely on them, I love that! The pacing and storyline have been so well played out.
There’s something sort of refreshingly fun about this. It still has tropes galore, but it really isn’t your typical BL.
I can’t precisely pinpoint why this is so good, but it really just is. Regardless of all the toxicity and red flags, I’m colorblind. When I can find a good Thai BL, they always deliver until the end - which are few and far between these days - but this one keeps getting better and better.
At this point I don’t know if I’m hoping Xiao Fan & Lu Qing breakup or stay together. And honestly I’m starting to not care either way. Any moments of happiness are clouded in shadows of despair. Their whole bittersweet love is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
Are you caught up on all the episodes? I think the 1st CP is picking up the pace now, their scene in the hotel…
You’re not wrong, I am caught up thru episode 8 and the pace is definitely picking up for the 1st CP. I do love them and their story too, there is just something about the 2nd CP that has captivated me more.

I simply adore and love Hwang In Youp. I’d watch him baking bread. But the second couple in this drama has got ahold of my whole heart. There’s just something about the 1st CP that has been falling flat, and has left the opening for the 2nd CP to steal the whole show. Kudos to the actors as well. They know what they be doing.
