Can we all say a hallelujah for a Thai BL that breaks out the mold, no doomed ep.11 breakup forced plot line to be found here, it’s the opposite actually. There is nothing profound about this BL, but somehow it awes nonetheless. I love this more each and every week.
Why can’t I watch this anywhere? I really want to though! And I mean in the “non-sketchy site that’s sorta not totally legal” kind of way. This is just nowhere for me to watch, and trust I’ve got too many subscriptions to too many streaming platforms. I feel like this show shouldn’t be out of my reach!! Just WHY?!
This is just one of those sit back, relax and feel emotions kind of watch. Brain not necessary, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. TeeTee (Duang) is like the Jim Carrey of Thai BL’s. He can overact his little ass off and I just love him all the more for it.
This is so much fun. And why is North just stealing the show? And that’s saying something seeing as how all these guys are bringing their A game. This has a sincere comedic brilliance that also keeps my heart beating faster.
I really liked this. And just to be the umpteenth person to weigh in on the Japanese/Thai BL remakes, I liked this version better than the original, even though that was also really good. I liked this ending better though. Maybe I just like JBLs more than Thai BLs? And I also seem to be preferring Thail BLs that aren’t made by gmmtv? The juries out.
I did also like the JBL Love Sea a little better, but for the Love In The Air adaptations, either was fine by me.
I’m all for adaptations though, keep ‘em coming. Why not? Stories are just stories, no matter the subtitles.
For what it was, I did like this. I won’t complain about the short length and rushed story, I knew what I was getting myself into. I like there are stories and shows like these that give actors a chance to act. Yes, this is bite size, it doesn’t contain the length or detail of a novel, but it is a novel idea.
Magical and beautiful and wonderful and all of that. But… the ending just didn’t give enough. For such a forced distance for the MLs throughout, I just wanted more than what was given at the end. I’m left hungry for more (not in a naughty way, that’s not my point). I couldn’t feel the happiness the ending could have brought because I don’t know those actors/character representations.
I will have to preface this by saying I don’t think I’m smart enough for this film, which is a rarity because I can usually follow along well enough to figure out timelines and storylines, but this had my brain flipping around un-endlessly and always questioning what version of exactly what it is that I was watching. My BL Olympics brain did not fare well, but I still got the whole gist of it.
Basically, I’m happy by the ending, but not happy because of it. If you can make sense of that.
It is a good enough watch though and I do recommend watching.
Okay y’all, last week I was like, “I am TELLING you, the killer is one thousand percent the medical examiner…
Just throwing a wrench in the mix, we just got the bomb dropped that Puifai wanted to fake her own death, maybe Puth was able to help her in this because of a possible connection between the two, maybe they’re family? As a physician he falsified her death and they have been enacting Puifai’s revenge together. At Tonkla’s death, when Jay got knocked out, we learned there is possibly more than one person planning all these murders.
i also got a glimpse of the face similar to Sing when the masked man appeared at the hospital. so I am 90% sure…
You all got me thinking that Puifai isn’t dead and the forensics medical guy helped her fake her death, and those two are the murderers. My head’s spinning, this is just always and constantly keeping me guessing.
Well I never thought Jay to be the killer or involved with the killers until ep 8 did you see the killers mask…
I went back to check, because I really did think that although it’s been the same digital mask, the expression has been different each time. Which it has. In Ep.2 it had round red, squinty eyes, and a wide white smile. Ep.3 had red Xs for eyes, and a red stitched mouth. In Ep.4 it had green Xs for eyes and a longer green stitched smile. Then in Ep.7 it was only a pair of round white eyes, that changed eye shape, and blinked.
Well I never thought Jay to be the killer or involved with the killers until ep 8 did you see the killers mask…
For sure, the mask does change with each of the murders, and the most recent mask from the last episode definitely felt different in that it was more childlike, sorta?
I’ve had suspicions it’s Jay because he could so easily be throwing everyone off seeing as how he has an in with the detectives on the case, and his whereabouts for every murder is never confirmed. We know he got hit in the head at Tonkla’s murder, but still, he was there.
That would be a devastating blow though to Jade if it’s been his brother all along, plus the murders are really grotesque, whoever it is doing all this killing is pretty f’d up in the head.
For some reason I always think back to the very first episode when Kamin told Jade he couldn’t be on the case since his brother is a suspect and it’s a conflict of interest, and Jade said that if it is his brother he’ll be the one to bring him to justice. Was that foreshadowing?
Episode 7 - The Afterglow. Why is Joong's bro so pretty? What tf is he feeding him? Would a guy crush another…
Could the murderer actually be Puifai? Did she really somehow fake her death? That would be crazy?! I’ve been wondering why Cherreen would drop that bomb this episode.
The killer is whoever took that picture of the friend group! It has to be!
I already had the theory that Jay’s been the killer all along, but I feel like that’s been mostly debunked in the last couple episodes (he’s still sorta sus tho? His whereabouts for all of the murders still seems kinda sketchy).
So now my new theory is that the picture we keep seeing resurface with each of the friends, the one with their faces scratched off, who took that? Is there a hidden, mysterious friend member that was maybe kicked out of the group earlier in their university years that maybe hasn’t been mentioned?
This show’s so fun because it really does keep you guessing. Plus, Joong and Dunk have been a slam dunk in this one. I’ve said it before, but I wasn’t aboard this ship at first, not liking their earlier series, but they’ve hit a stride and are now right up there with my favorites.
I watched this very much knowing I was entering the “kill your gays” era of cinema, it’s been 20 years, so expecting the worst is just something you have to gird your loins against when it comes to watching gay cinema of this time. But what I got instead is a story that LITERALLY tried to bury its gays, only to dig them up and give them a second chance, and then another fatal blow, but yet another redemption beyond expectation. Why aren’t more people talking about this?! I will admittedly agree that I wish there was just a bit more at the end there that really brought home a happy ending. But I’ve got an imagination and can plot out the rest on my own. I’ve got to give it to movies like this that brought about the realistic expectation that BLs can have a happy ending and also paving the way. Although this may not be noticed by the masses. This is definitely worth the roller coaster ride of a watch and worth your time. Give it a go for sure.
This is beyond toxic, but that’s not a complaint. I’m playing right along with these guys in this wasteland. Just about every character drives me crazy, in the want to pound my head against the wall kind of way, especially Toh and Jimmy, each episode it’s hard to decide which of them is frustrating me more. But I’m addicted. Which makes sense since every addiction out there is just bad for you. I’m stuck with this toxic BL addiction, it at least lets me vent anger at insufferable characters and then I’ll forget about them again until next week. Side note: will Toh grow an f’n spine already? boy be dickmatized to constant tears.
I am going to miss this so much. Every week it kept my attention plus gave that little bit more to make me just have to watch again next week. This was that show that I consistently looked forward to, more than anything else I’m watching. I’m sad it’s all over but also happy by the ending.
This is so random, but I had never experienced the sitting in a queue for a kpop group’s tickets like Se Na does in the show when she’s trying to get Gold Boys tickets, until recently that is. I was totally that fangirl for BTS tickets (which I did get) and at the end there when Se Na got in the 400’s for the ticket queue, I felt that excitement, that’s freaking awesome. In retrospect, I was in the 48,000’s when I got in the queue, so yeah, that was just a fun moment.
