That s how it works there, popularity is more important than quality. If an unkown rookie actor had acted like Eun Woo in an audition, they would never give him the main role, that's for sure. I just hope he gets decent enough to not ruin his future projects .

Sadly, he doesn t get better. If it wasn' t for the female lead 's character, I would have dropped it too.

He is not ready for main role yet. He should study more, learn more and gain more experience through supporting roles.

If you want learn about acting basic rules go read a book and learn about it. There are many specific thing about technique, for example speech cadence / rhythm, body gestures /movements, facial expressions, everything is important to convey the right emotion at the right moment. If you want convey an emotion you need to study and understanding your body language, if you don t learn that and don t train yourself to notice and understand these subtle changes/differences, you will fail to convey the right emotion for that specific moment. And the same goes for the rhythm and cadence of the speech sound. I know what I m talking about here because I read many articles about it out of curiosity and interest in this topic. And I know the study behind acting since my friend was able to act in a theater after studying hard for many years. I noticed many acting's mistakes in Cha Eun Woo' s performance, typical of "green" and not professional acting. I can t point everything wrong with his acting here, because to do that, we should together watch every scene with him and point what is wrong in the specific scene explaining why. And I have no time nor desire to do that. If you are curious about it, go read articles and learn about it, a whole new world will open up for you. I've already wasted enough of my precious time replying to all of you but I just wanted to explain why I wrote that affirmation.  My affirmation is based on facts that I studied and learn through articles and indirect experience. It's not based on some kind of hate towards this guy, as you supposed.  I'm not that evil and I'm not a biased person as many fans are. Having said that, the discussion ends here for me.

I don t like repeating the same thing over and over again. You are saying that if he was a bad actor, then he wasn t supported by so many fans. Unfortunately, it doesn t always work like that in the entertainment industry. People can like an actor for so many reasons, because he is pretty, because he is cute and adorable, because of his charisma , because of his voice, and so on. The fact that an actor is so popular and has so many followers proves that people like him, but not proves that he is good at acting.

The acting method has basic rules/basis that are the same for everyone. You can go in different acting school and you will learn everywhere the same basis. (I m not the one making the rules, study/reasearch has been done as for everything). Of course, everyone has different style, fortunately , not all the actors act the same way. I already took the singer as an example in my previous comment. Every singer has a different style that you can like or not like, that depend on your preference, but a singer needs to know/learn musical notes and what "out of tune'' means before singing. If he sings out of tune all the time, it 's a fact he is singing badly, not an opinion.

Acting has basic rules, method, people study hard for many years to become actors! If it s subjective like you say, what the point in going to acting school? What the point in learning the basis? What the point in learning the method? If a popular singer sing out of tune, you can still say that he is good at singing? There are some objective rules that make the difference between bad and good acting. You can like an actor that is bad at acting, of course, and you can dislike an actor that is good at acting, the liking is a subjective feeling, but the acting as method is not.

Well, I think his pretty face played a big role in making people liking him. Because his acting still remains bad, but, as I already said, there are many subjective factors that make people liking an actor. So the fact the people become his fan after watching him starring in this drama, it doesn t necessarily mean that his acting was good.

Sorry kangminjae, when I was talking about the popularity and biased fans, I was replying to what amanu35 has written, the fact he is popular not necessarily means that he is good at acting. Of course, he is young and he can always improve, but he still is not good at it.

Sorry to tell you, but popularity is not always a sign of quality. There are many other factors that makes a person popular, and, of course, that depends on audience' s opinion, but a pretty and puppy face can often make people blind and deny the facts. Do I hate him? When? Where? Why? Unfortunately I didn t have the pleasure to know him in person, so I can t say anything about him as person. Here I m only talking about his acting in this drama. And the fact that his acting is bad, is not an opinion. The fact that I don t like him as Prince Yi Rim because of his bad acting, is my opinion. The fact that annoys me because of his bad acting, is my personal feeling. The fact that because of his bad acting I couldn t fully enjoy the whole thing, it s about my personal enjoyment. But the fact that his acting is bad is not an opinion. You' re free to like him anyway , THAT is your opinion: liking him anyway, but you really can t say his acting is good only because you are his fan. It s okay for his fans supporting him and encouraging him to do better, but please don t deny the facts. Say "his acting improved" is one thing, say "his acting is good" is a totally different thing.

If you call Cha Eun Woo's acting "good acting", then everyone here can be an actor. Please, be objective, you can like his puppy face , you can like his -supposed- adorable (?) character, but it s a fact that he can't act at all. His every expression and his every move looks so fake to the point that just watching him makes me annoyed. It s hard enjoying a drama if you don t like the main lead! Btw, I liked Goo Hae Ryung, I wish more female leads were like her!

As I thought, they want to make more seasons. This first season was really mediocre, but I don t like rating something not finished and incomplete.

Finished watching episode 15. For me it s just... meh. Unfortunately I couldn t feel any emotional attachment to the plot and the characters so I m not really invested in the story. To me this series it's like admiring a pretty cake, but when you taste it, you notice it s flavorless. 15 episodes and I feel like nothing really happened, the story really become repetitive and tasteless, and so the characters. I m curious to know how it will end, but since there are only 3 episodes left, I m afraid it will have an open ending hinting to a second season.....

Thanks for the info. Watched the first 2 episodes and kinda bored me, nothing special about it. But if the other season is better, I will try to stick with it.

Deep friendship? Romance? Simply, relantionship? Is it so wrong to assume it s about bromance when the first tag on this page says bromance and everyone uses this term? When, and If, I'll finish watching it, I'll decide if bromance is really the right term or not, in MY opinion. I really don t understand what is so wrong about it. It looks like my question bothered you in some way and you just want to point something out. I bet if I had written ""ooooh the bromance looks good, can t wait to watch it!!"" , you wouldn t even bother correcting me and telling me to drop the disguise and bla bla bla.
