Sigh. Also wish I waited. I know what you mean about the ending. Hard to say if it will be happy or sad. Since it is 1930s/ early 1940s Thailand, not so hopeful about a happy ending.
I should not have started this. Now I am dying to know what happens next….waiting for subtitles for the last aired episode and eagerly awaiting new episodes…

The audio issues are so distracting !!! Interestingly, they seem to be rampant in these new productions. I’ve Also noticed that when someone calls on the phone in Love in the air, it is also weird. Instead of the person. Being on the phone, it’s like the person. Calling is in the same room !
The quality is going up but the decent shows are def in the minority, it is getting harder to trust MDL ratings…
So true. It is definitely hard to trust the ratings. I remember there was one point the KinnPorsche rating was not fluctuating at all…it was like it was frozen. I am not sure how the rating algorithm works….
Suddenly everyone is expecting deep sinister plots and intense drama from a genre that has given us almost a decade of mostly cotton candy fluff and love angst.
Strong showing from Star Hunter. I was really impressed with the quality production. Something I noticed is the sound is really good. Both The Eclipse and Love in the air both have issues with their sounds that no one seems to notice…
This is my favorite type of Thai BL - enemies to lovers. Strong cinematography and the use of the dark colours was pretty amazing. It shows that this is more dark and sinister along the lines of KinnPorsche compared to the usually fluffy Thai university-set BLs. I loved the explanation of the Chinese mythical animals and their roles. The acting is not bad too. The actor playing Mangkorn is particularly impressive. I also enjoyed the Pong and Park comic relief.
I am disappointed that some people have come to dump on the series already after the first episode. Let’s give it some time. Personally I think the rating should be higher.
Star Hunter has gone out of their way to make it freely available to international fans on YouTube with English subs. We don’t have to pay for it or watch it for free during some very inconvenient window of time. I am not saying that we should blindly show gratitude but at least some level of recognition of this. If the episode sucked, I wouldn’t not be singing its praises but so far, so good.
Getting KinnPorsche vibes just from the direction and colours but not bad so far. Enjoying what I am seeing and it looks like Star Hunter really splashed money into this production. The acting from the two leads is top notch so far especially the actor playing Mangkorn. I love the Thai Chinese aspects....not that all the BL actors are all Thai Chinese anyway but interesting to see the emphasis placed on this in the storyline....similar to Cutie Pie. Of course one has to be aware that Chinese companies probably pump a lot of money into these Thai productions because they are living vicariously through Thai (Chinese) in being able to produce the BLs that they would want for a Chinese market...fascinating....anyway, loving the series so far.
I'm still convinced that Thua and not Chadok took Ayan's notebook. I'm not sure why, but for me it wasn't a coincidence…
I agree with you about the notebook. I love the pacing and the development of the relationships against the backdrop of the mystery. I think a lot of people are forgetting this is not mystery first, BL second. It is BL first, mystery second. Manner of Death was definitely all about the plot. I watched the original trailer again and I am a little worried that this will not have a happy ending....

Lol. Hardly bullied into it. Akk has been smitten with Ayan since Ayan arrived at the school. I don't think Ayan forced Akk into anything but I do agree that he has been quite forceful and unrelenting in his pursuit. On another note, lots of other BL couples have dubious origin stories. Sarawat pestering Tine, one person obsessing over and stalking the other in History 1: Obsession even recently Payu pestered Rain indirectly until he relented in Love in the air...
In my school people used to get suspended for the smallest things so it really is a mystery to me how the trio…
Same actually. I would have liked the college set up better but I guess that would’ve been harder to make it single sex and also have teachers exert so much control.
Another great episode. Not as exciting for me compared to last week's but love how Akk has gradually come around. The way he looked at Aye in the pool says it all. He didn't resist the kiss and beamed when Aye told him that he would be jealous if he (Ask) looked at anyone the way he looked at Aye in that moment. I love how they did the post scream revelation. They were sure to situate all the players with alibis at t eh time the screen was heard....Akk was with the Aye, Wat with the teacher etc. ...still loving the mysterious undertone which is basically me wondering how those "World Remembers" trio haven't been expelled from the school yet.
Still waiting for a reasonable international release for this. People keep saying how underrated it is….maybe….but if the producers choose not to release it widely internationally….🤷
Beautiful from start to finish. I know a lot of people have gripes but I can’t see any other ending options. The ending was perfect, the leads were perfect and the support roles were executed to perfection. Don’t really notice the OSTs but this one was stunning.
😂! What I suspect is that they filmed bits of the trailer before he shaved his head and bits after he came back from the military. Rather than redo the whole thing, they opted to have him wear a wig. Doesn’t look good !
Manga-like, quirky and angst-ridden at the same time. Didn’t really enjoy the first episode as much as other quirky Japanese BLs such as the Man who defied the world of BL, Kieta Hatsuoki and of course Cherry Magic…
