Indeed the conflict does seem minor but if deaths had occurred like in the case of UWMA,, I am sure their would have been more of a chance for reconciliation. UWMA also highlights the point about family, cultural context and changing attitudes in Thai society over time but where it differs is that the conflict was sadly resolved by death and a continued feud was completely pointless. Ironically, pettier conflicts may be harder to overcome.
I feel sorry for the next bls coming after this especially gmm ones.. Will they escape the bad buddy dark cloud?…
I think Enchanté is in trouble. It may struggle to meet. The bar set by Bad Buddy. I already found Enchanté plot uninteresting before Bad Buddy and now I am not sure I have the patience to watch newbie actors in a series that I am not excited about. I guess people may seek it out for their BL fix though…

I agree on the point of cultural context. Coming from a society myself where family is more important than than the individual and marriage is not only between individuals but between families, I can understand why Pat and Pran chose not to battle their parents. In many parts of the world, you are raised to always respect elders and not question their decisions and authority. One’s family’s reputation and standing in society are thought to be of paramount importance and even more so than an individual’s happiness. You would not be given the opportunity to have “open dialogues” and disclosing your feelings. So I totally understand and relate to their approach. They couldn’t risk being ostracized. Pat was still going to take over the generational family business and both of them needed their parents…even just for love and support. I am really glad that the writers did not try and pander to a western audience by having an ending that did not fit the Thai cultural context but made more sense from a Western perspective.
Can someone just pls explain to me why Pat and Pran's parents were still enemies even after Pran literally saved…
How do the parents know Pran saved Pa? Did the kids tell their parents? Also, it would make Pat’s parents grateful but Pran’s mother would still harbor intense hatred over what happened to her in high school.
Like, WHY THE HELL did they need to run away if their parents didn't even TRY to break them up? Why did they fake…
What “proper plot” were you hoping for ? Can you give us an example of good script writing since you seem to think it was so abysmal. Just wondering if aliens should have landed or something to provide a plot twist that no one was expecting.
Just came to give my ratings for Bad Buddy - 10 out of 10. Although they decided to play with our emotions for half the episode, the ending was perfect.
So fascinating that Jun who plays Eun Ho is on the Light on Me OST with his boy band. Seems now more than ever that the line between KPop idol and KBL lead is blurring more and more. I guess all is performance art…
Anyone see the preview for the last episode ? Would root for Yeong .Wu and Yi Bin ending up together….interesting that they never told Ki Jin that they knew each other from high school and whatever dalliance they had…
The subbers are volunteers so it is natural. It would be great if they could pay the subbers, but I don't think…
I’ve said it before: they need to pay their subbers. Viki may not realize that their business model of collecting money from subscriptions and not paying volunteers to sub may collapse at some point when more people start to cancel their subscriptions in favor of illegal streaming.
Only on 19% subbed on Viki. As per usual, .Viki is a paid service that takes forever to provide English subtitles to subscribers. They should just pay their subbers or not upload series until they are subbed. Super annoying.
Don’t understand why this is not rated higher. Excellent series and enjoying the TaeSingto pairing - it works so well….who knew ? Also liking Yacht and Yoon. Both are underrated actors.
