I was really digging the first 2 episodes, and then episode 3 came. I'd say the series is probably worth seeing just for War's acting, but the ending was garbage just like Fern and the subtitles.
After the initial panic of did they really just kill Tong Fah.. I remembered the end scene from episode 4. Clever editing, but I would bet on episode 5 leading back to that closing scene of episode 4.
Clearly someone very close to Tong Fah and his mother (the father?) passed away in that scene, and Paper showed up afterward. It would seem to reason that Paper would also be upset when he called and got the news, if he is as close the family as implied.
Again, just a theory, but that's where I'm leaning. Willing this into existence so I don't have to cry for the other option ;)
I found myself wanting to fast forward through the TharnType scenes when this was their big day. I'm glad they are finally married, but their story line for the bulk of season 2 was borderline boring. I think making this a ppv was a bit ridiculous, but capitalism gonna capitalism.
The side couples scenes were more engaging because it added more to their relationship development. Champ/Khunpol, Phu/Cir are adorable and I wouldn't mind just a special for them. Hell, throw in Fiat/Leo as well. Maybe we can get Techno a partner as well if they can't use the one from his other series? Boy needs a hobby.

I liked when she lit into him too, until they nerfed that right after in the conversation with Tonhon's mother. Totally out of character for her to say she'll make Chon move out and keep him away from Ton. Theme of the show, 1 step forward 17 steps back.
I gave this show as much benefit of the doubt as I could, but the finale was awful. The humor is not enough. No self respecting person would sit there and take that garbage from Tonhon's father only to turn around and appease his asinine demands in the end anyway.
Give Na & Ken their own series with a new writer.
Throw this drama and the rest of the characters in the trash.
It seemed like after the first few episodes they stopped writing an actual script and had the actors try to adlib their way through to something semi coherent. I think them suddenly combining the last two episodes into one very short finale sort of proves that fact that there was something else going on with the production.
I really don't like the idea of a secret "babe" that was never once mentioned or hinted at during the season. They already didn't deal with the Edward side story, and someone else chasing Bryce just to interfere with his relationship with Bart is a rehash of the Josh story. Bart definitely was best boy.
I haven't seen official word of season 2, but I hope that they get a better writing team to compliment the beauty and talent of the actors. Substance is needed over just looks alone in all aspects.
I wasn't surprised by the revelation Vee wasn't as innocent as he seemed, but it was a bit surprising that they went more with a sociopathic revelation rather than a supernatural one. My only real issue with it is Vee grouping Dong in with the rest of the crazy family. Dong did nothing wrong to Vee, unless somehow briefly ignoring him in episode 2 was considered a cardinal sin.
Hopefully there's more to this than Vee being plain evil... The sly smirks implying he was playing Jay and Jennifer would support that, but also when no one was around or looking, he would get that sweet smile at the notion of Dong liking him or texting him. That would seem to indicate it's not as clear cut as laid out.
On a side note, VR was a little too convincing as a psychopath... :P
I'm curious where this goes in season 2 considering it seemed like half of the cast met their demise in this one.
Episode 7: Not sure what that episode was, but it definitely was not good. It seemed like they just wanted nearly an hour to show that each of the cast could try and cry convincingly? (Unfortunately most of them failed.)
The ending made no sense, as they replayed the same scene they showed in episode 6 with Cholo asking Ram to befriend Migo, yet Cholo apparently tells Migo that because of that conversation Ram is faking his actual feelings? When nothing of that sort was said, along with the fact that Ram told him last episode that he fell for Migo. Then instead of even trying to get an explanation, Migo walks by Ram bawling up a storm, and neither think to say hey, what's wrong? Tf.
I liked this series for the most part up until this episode. Hopefully they there's an actual script for the finale.
I feel like there is zero romantic chemistry between the 3 main characters. I don't know if it's by intention or not, but it kind of takes me out of the show altogether. I actually think it'd be better if it ended with Pearl realizing she doesn't need someone else to be happy and going back to being the strong, independent version of herself from Gameboys.
Episode 4: I like this series so far, but man, Bryce is maddening. I'm pretty sure they're not in middle school where you treat the person you like, like crap to show your feelings. I feel really bad for Bart and my natural inclination is to root for him, but I also feel bad for Josh because he's not guilty of anything besides liking Bryce as well. I'm not sure what the end game is, but someone is going to end up hurt. On a side note, whoever the casting director is gets an A+. I can't imagine a more all around beautiful set of actors.
