Welcome to the crime scene of my feelings.

I created this profile in January 2026 to finally keep track of the dramas I’ve watched… or at least attempt to, because the list somehow keeps growing faster than my self-control. I’ve been watching Asian dramas since around 2015/16, starting mostly with K-dramas before gradually shifting more and more toward C-dramas over the years.

I tend to rate dramas within the lane they’re aiming for. Some dramas are mainly trying to entertain, charm, or emotionally hook the audience, while others clearly aim for stronger writing, realism, thematic depth, or technical quality. My expectations shift accordingly, which is probably why I can be both surprisingly forgiving and painfully critical depending on the drama.

These days I mostly gravitate toward thrillers, historicals, wuxia, political intrigue, layered characters, and stories with a more serious overall tone. I like dramas that trust the audience a little, take their time building atmosphere, and leave something lingering after the final episode. Idol dramas can still surprise me occasionally, but they rarely end up becoming personal favourites.

My rating system is pretty simple:
★ 7 and above → I’d generally recommend it
★ 5.5–6.5 → watchable, but usually more frustrating than satisfying for me personally
★ below 5 → didn’t work for me, and there’s a high chance I dropped it to protect my watchlist from unnecessary suffering
★ 10s are extremely rare. I pay a lot of attention to details, character consistency, and narrative logic, so plots that fall apart too much usually lose me along the way.

Expect overthinking, scene analysis, appreciation for smart writing and cinematography, emotionally compromised commentary, and occasional dramatic reactions over fictional people making terrible life choices.
