I only started listening to Kpop about 6 months ago, so I'm still trying to catch up. Of course, I also use that excuse with dramas, and it's been a year since I watched my first drama. Still haven't cooled down from the first initial excitement of everything. :)

Well, as you can see, I also like BigBang. :) I've got the names down though for SHINee, JYJ/TVXQ, Block B, 2NE1, CnBlue, and.. a smattering of other groups, but nothing completed.

Overall I just loved it. :) Well-thought out storylines are rare in the drama world.

Hehe.. you know what though? I absolutely LOVE 49 Days specifically because.. I never saw it coming!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! After ALL THAT! She just.. goes.. just like that. It was a brilliant stroke of writing, though I was initially pissed off and cried buckets of tears for hours and hours. What was lame was that the story kept going, and all that about her being a long last sister was silly.. but I don't care so much. That scene where the survivors are planting the matching trees in memory of their dead lovers.. ahhh.. so heartbreaking. (I like a good tearjerker sometimes) Lol.

I think Maru has given up on his own dreams or of a life with EG, and will probably do whatever he has to to protect her, even if it means pushing her away and pretending to love another woman (a classic Kdrama trope). I think the park scene was probably engineered by both him and lawyer Park. They seem to have established a mutual respect for each other, even if they don't like each other much, and are probably scheming together for EG's benefit. That scene at the end was probably designed to have EG see them together, and so she would stop loving Maru. AT least, that's my guess. I fully expect an answer of what exactly was going on there in the next ep.

Just read your review on Reply 1997. Very nice! I like how you said you weren't even super-addicted to it. I kind of felt the same at first. Though I marathoned it in several days, at first it less like watching an addicting fictional show, and more like watching a slice of the past go by in extremely realistic shots. Welcome back to the drama world again! I'm also a little bit Kpop obsessed, but I try and balance out my addictions! Some days I fail.. Lol! Nice profile pic, btw. He was by far my favorite character in Dream High.
Just a thought: if one analyzes those most cliched dramas, one may say that their message is that powerful women…
And the moral is: We as girls should be demure, clutzy and dirt poor for our prince charming to appear. ;)

I try to spend some 'time' with one group at a time, or at least for a short while, and get to know them that way, learn their names, sometimes their personalities. While I love most of U-KISS's songs, I just haven't gotten around to all their names and faces. But that's my goal for this week! What other groups do you listen to?

I don't know if this could come anywhere near the ending of Big. For one, NG is waaay better overall, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the writers knew from day 1 where they wanted this story to go, as opposed to the writers for Big. I'm pretty sure those idiots just decided things on a weekly basis, and were then like.. 'crap.. how do we get from point a to point b? oh well..!'

That's why I thought the ending was lame. There's obviously going to have to be some sort of explanation, because of course.. we really know Maru has got some plan up his sleeves, right? So yeah.. it was most likely some sort of 'set up' that we just have to wait to see how it unravels. Hmph
i am rather happy that i have not seen too many dramas with that pattern but only a few, and i dun plan to watch…
I agree on Buzzer Beat. That was a seriously refreshing second lead girl - even if I did hate her at times. She was though a great example of a "fleshed out" character, and you could at least understand her motivations, unlike most second leads who just want to be with their 'oppas' no matter what!
