I am not a fan of either FL so I am glad I skipped this!
The bizarre thing about this drama is that ZLY caaaaan be a bit better in other dramas, but here she is not only written as the flattest of all characters but also has nothing memorable to do and so she acts like it: boring. Then there's Yang Zi, and tbh I can't stand her almost anywhere else, but in this role she's at her most unique? She actually plays the aloof stoic 'elder sister' with arguable better chemistry with ML (as I found out - her character is the eventual main pairing but the arcs of noble aspirations 1 and 2 just haven't reached that point- it's slightly more hinted at in 2). Not that I'm persuading you to watch it. It's still pretty painful about 75% of the time LOL
I now want to watch at least half of these if not more! I mean I like my heavy and complicated dramas but since I tend to watch multiple shows at once, I also like to have some easier dramas so I don't overload. Thank you for the list!
Does anyone else feel a little bit sad to know that the Future Sun Jae, Yeon Ho & Sung Shik wont exist?
*raises hand* Me, totally. I think the writers were trying to gloss that over and pretend we should be happy that kid sun jae was there in the last scene, but imo having the whole past change and rewirite itself kind of defeats the purpose of everything that happens in the old future. Meh, oh well.
As much as I loved it, Cruel City did drag for me - only the intensity of the characters whenever they were allowed to break through got me to finish.
Slow can be good - if it gives you ample time to get used to characters in an interesting way. It's the slow ones that do Nothing other than the same cliche character progressions that annoy the heck out of me. I think you need either the right characters and/or the right storyline to get away with it. I rarely see Kdramas do both well.
I do want to see him in some of these other roles, though that prospect is kind of scary lol. However Que Sera Sera was indeed fabulous! And I'm more than a little excited to see him paired up again with the same actress!!!! (In other words, totally thrilled!)
I always wonder what characters do between 2 different scenes in 2 different places... For example, they meet…
This has always bugged me too! Like one second they're practically nose to nose in a big confrontation, and then the next they're just casually somewhere else, or else the scene just ends and jumps to another day!
It's been a long time since I've read an article on MDL and I'm glad I chose this one. That was a good read. Thanks…
Nine's villain was pretty cartoonish (and gosh that overacting!) I just include him there because of how cool his character worked with the backwards/forwards/??wards storytelling of the story. Basically, the guy he was Before the villainy really sunk into his character.
