Yes, it's true that the premise of TJOC is ordinary while TSL seems fresher.Although I have only watched 4 eps of TJOC and 3 eps of TSL, TJOC's storyline seems to run slowly, the conflict between the players seems to be not clearly visible Where as TSL from the beginning has shown conflict between players, especially the relationship between fathers who distinguish the love of one daughter from another daughter. In TSL, the relationship between ML and FL is in accordance with market tastes where FL is handsome, cold, stiff, dashing, While FL is naughty, cheerful, independent, funny, adorable, yes, the relationship between FL and ML who have contrasting traits is what makes it interesting.And also the relationship between the main players and the supporting players of TSL looks better than TJOC, that's what I think :)

one of the advantages of this series, made as real as possible each scene , no nonsensical martial arts fight scenes, that's how it is in real life, the fights are street fights. the people who lost their land by unscrupulous rich people and government officials / aristocrats make sense with real life now . the director, the actors and actresses, the screenwriters and all the crew in this series, did a marvellous job in making this series interesting.

I hope this series is finished, not still continuing. usually Zhang Ruo Yun's series always continues season 2 like Joy of life and Sword Snow Stride, and in the end the season 1 always ends to make us curious. Like Joy of life, the end of the first season's story makes me curious, and I've been waiting for the second season for years.I hope this series in episode 14 the story is finished, don't make a serialised ending.
