I was entertained for today's Ep. 33-36. I think it helped to skip Kocowa's descriptions and not spoil myself.…
I thought today’s episodes were quite good. However, it still hasn’t made up for the more recent episodes and how they, unfortunately, ruined what I thought was a very stylish and classy start - It seemed this drama was going to be something different. Such a good cast too.
Kingdom is a slick and well made production. It is clearly up there with the best of the zombie stories. One of the things I have liked is it’s portrayal of the living conditions at the time. Quite often Kdramas present a sanitised version of the historical living environment.
The top five moments for me: • Any interaction between the Crown Prince and Moo Young • When Seo Bi says the Crown Prince is a good and caring Royal • The Queen’s father dictating to her how she is to proceed - very menacing • The shots of the lake - both beautiful and sinister at the same time • The cliffhanger - one of the best you will see
My favourite character is Seo Bi.
Five reasons to watch include: the acting, the scenery, the sets, the zombies and the little surprises here and there.
Wonderful article and good fun! As an aside, I did enjoy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies :)
A “monster” of a cliffhanger. A slick and lavish production where the many extras would have had a lot of fun making Kingdom. A nice little twist here and there as well. I will be watching S2.
I was reluctant to start watching ep 14 because of the preview. However, it was proof once again that you should never judge an episode by its preview. Our OTP knocked it out of the park and this continued on into, and through, episode 15. They are doing a great job here. I can’t wait for the finale.
I almost threw my iPad out the window when the second truck of death turned up! What has happened to this show? It had such a great start. However, episodes 25-32 have almost been a complete waste of a story that had something glamorous about it. There is nothing wrong with the characters, nor the acting. It’s just how the story is now being told. I’m not sure if I can finish it.
i think this show is really well written and I think Ming'er is like a sponge, learning basically what not to…
Yes, this show is superbly written. Minglan is like a sponge and GTY is, as you will see later, a “man for all seasons”. The interaction between the sisters helps put much of the story into context and Momo Kong handled their issues beautifully.
The only time we see her lose her composure or stop her performance is when GTY gets angry. I think he needs to get very angry and have his soldiers drag her away to the farm. GTY’s reaction to ML’s suggestion that they remove the walls between the two properties was priceless. Hopefully, Third Brother will keep resisting his mother’s web of lies.
I just started this drama. So far the men in this drama ainnnnt sh#t. Except the young Lord for being so chivalrous.…
Yes, it continues this way for some time. Then you see some wonderful performances by our menfolk, whether you like them or hate them. ML’s father for instance has some great scenes even though you really want to kick him in the shins - lol!
I thought ep 49 was a great episode. We see “Second Darling” (LoL - a lovely moment. We see that Minglan is truly shy as much as anything else) very shaken up by new events, Third Brother not putting up with evil Mother, some more evil scheming, perhaps ML making the wrong call and a dramatic ending. Our main servants are wonderful by the way.
In short, a lot happened. So, I thought the story was changed up quite nicely. On top of this, it’s like watching a house of cards being built. You hold your brief as you put the next card onto the house hoping Second Darling and ML don’t suffer misfortune and it all collapses.
Donnie Chen in full swing in a delightful movie to boot! It’s always good to see an uplifting tale regarding students trying to achieve and make a better life. Joe Chen plays a diminutive role that somehow rounds out what Donnie is trying to do. 8.5/10
Some of the best moments in this show eg ep 42 are when the ensemble gather in one place and act out a humourous scene - it’s like watching it on stage :)
Episode 1 was very good with some fine performances all round. There were serious elements, very good humourous moments and lots of longing looks and stares. You do have to feel sorry for Kae though re her family. If they can keep the lakorness under control, it will be a very enjoyable show.
