1)The Wang family accused him of murdering their daughter who was trying to HELP put out a fire that HE started2)Evil…
I hope his plan works - because I found ep 69 the first disappointment in this wonderful series. Yes, it’s supposed to be messy etc, but I felt the execution of the episode was way off. Just me being cranky :)
I’m not sure whether I like Sky Castle or not. It is certainly a thought provoking, sad at times, story with great acting. It is clever with its commentary, has some great moments and squeezes every drop it can. It’s one of those shows you just need to watch and make up your own mind.
Episode 5 has a lot going on with some beautiful moments. Eun-ho though, what are you doing? Dan-i continues to be fabulous!!! Overall, a well made show, some fine characterisations and a good, effortless, watch. :)
I don’t know what to say in the end. The first half was a wow, stylish, glamorous and intriguing. The second half plunged off the cliff. The scene between Jennie and her mum at the airport towards the end was a really nice touch and I liked the closing moments between our lead pair.
He is totally faithful to her. You can’t blame him about the mistress and children before he was in a relationship…
Some Thai Lakorns I found going against the trend are: Bpoop Phaeh Saniwaat (Love Destiny) - a wonderful historical drama depicting actual events. Yes, there are some Thai elements, but fascinating, and on a par with Minglan in many respects. Then there is Tai Peek Puksa (Louis Scott is quite funny in this) re the ghost fighter pilot. Currently, I’m finding Nang Rai a very good watch (The ML only has eyes for the FL. It is the FL’s mother though doing the hair pulling re her own daughter). I also thoroughly enjoyed the Crown Princess - quite a classy show.
I come from quite a traditional Chinese business family & my parents generation is still practicing patriarchy…
Thank you so much for such an amazing insight. When you combine what you have said with the poetry of Li Qingzhao (the great poet who lived at the same time as Minglan - her words are used in the song at the end of each episode), you do get the impression that this show is spot on in its portrayal of things.
The Great Battle was okay. It had a good start, but after that it seemed to fall away, although it did a good job on portraying how relentless the fighting was. Jo In Sung’s performance as the Commander was very good, but the Emperor as a character was far from convincing (may be Park Sung Woong doesn’t look good in a beard :))
Minglan is simply the best show. No, it’s not dubbed. It is a quality production throughout. The attention to…
One of the fantastic things about this drama is that a lot of time is spent on each of the characters. So, you get to know them quite well. Generally, even the minor characters get quite a bit of story time. There are 73 episodes with 62 subbed up until today.
Is this good? And can someone tell me if this is dubbed? Really hate out of the sync lips talking. That's why…

I was entertained for today's Ep. 33-36. I think it helped to skip Kocowa's descriptions and not spoil myself.…
I thought today’s episodes were quite good. However, it still hasn’t made up for the more recent episodes and how they, unfortunately, ruined what I thought was a very stylish and classy start - It seemed this drama was going to be something different. Such a good cast too.
Kingdom is a slick and well made production. It is clearly up there with the best of the zombie stories. One of the things I have liked is it’s portrayal of the living conditions at the time. Quite often Kdramas present a sanitised version of the historical living environment.
The top five moments for me: • Any interaction between the Crown Prince and Moo Young • When Seo Bi says the Crown Prince is a good and caring Royal • The Queen’s father dictating to her how she is to proceed - very menacing • The shots of the lake - both beautiful and sinister at the same time • The cliffhanger - one of the best you will see
My favourite character is Seo Bi.
Five reasons to watch include: the acting, the scenery, the sets, the zombies and the little surprises here and there.
Wonderful article and good fun! As an aside, I did enjoy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies :)
