Here I am at the end of episode 19, a tick over half way. Show is consistent throughout, delivering very watchable content and then some, with many moments that show off the remarkable talents of the two female leads - Zhang Xiao Fei and Jenny Zhang. They take the story to a whole other level.
The second mistress appears to be typical of the level of character we see in many CDramas. This serves only to make both FLs even more a cut above what we see in many of these stories - yay 😀
Show is tagged as a revenge drama. I don’t see it that way. To me, it’s more about rediscovering one’s self and hitting back over the net what was served up and then trying to work out a way that will deliver: game, set and match.
As for the MLs, scumbagosaurous (because he is a scumbag and a dinosaur to boot) is full of self righteous talk that is demeaning at the same time and lacks any real vision (relies on the talent of others) and Mr Second Place has shown glimpses of what it means to be a new age CEO and making a concerted effort re future relationships.
Show also has many themes ranging from the challenges of the modern workplace, mums reintegrating with the workforce, cheating partners, criticism of the work drinking culture being passed on to the younger generations, overbearing and manipulative parents, struggling young workers, understanding parents, lousy siblings and so on, but all done in a way that supports what the main characters bring to what is, a very good program at this point.
I watched the first episode on Linmon (Media) Official Pictures Channel on YouTube. Subs seemed all in order to me. Linmon Media weren’t on the list of Where To Watch, so I couldn’t add them to this MDL page. As a side note, Linmon Media is where I watched Nothing But You.
I enjoyed the first episode, but Lin Yi was not right to criticise Xiao Feng the way he did re Mr Wang’s death. In fact, it was very arrogant and immature.
It would seem both MLs will learn how to be effective communicators along the way!
The procedures and operations portrayed seemed to be based more in realism than heroics, although Lin Yi did save the day re one operation.
I have enjoyed the first four episodes so far. Xi Ning is a fabulous character: talented and knows which way is up. Lin Yi is a seasoned GM who has altruistic motives, but which are lost in the machinations of those who want to ruin the company. Anyway, looking forward to the ongoing friendships, romances and jewellery designs.
I’m calling it a day at Ep 26. The early episodes were great. I guess the way the story turned in eps 25 and 26 frustrated me no end and the big reveals were up and down for me and one in particular was not convincing at all. There was nothing wrong with the acting - it was very good, although Lord Ding was perhaps a little too wooden at times. I liked the FL - a bright and engaging presence. And I liked the relationship that the leads had and how this unfolded and came together.
What was an enjoyable show for me, totally soured during eps 24 and 25. The OTP are great. I just found show quickly became out of balance (too much time given to) re the unrelenting interference of the ex-husband, Mr Fang, the ice-hockey couple. So, reluctantly, dropped.
First Responders went from strength to strength. The first season was very good, but the second season didn’t just knock it out of the park, but actually blew it out of the neighbourhood 😉 Top notch acting all round, I loved the autopsy moments, the forensic analysis throughout and the relationships/friendships. Show was bold in its story, with wonderful red herrings and twists and turns and a fitting ending. Very well done to all.
I thought I would be able to stick it out, but no, I can’t - I’m out. This show started off so well. Enjoy the final ten episodes everybody 😂🤣😂 The Real Has Come had better not let me down today 😉
Li Guang is such a controversial character for sure. I feel like they take the CEO male love interest trope to…
Fabulous, well balanced, comments, JJJ. Show is extremely well acted. I’m a CEO myself, so I’m always intrigued (and sometimes disappointed) by how they are portrayed in CDramas and Kdramas in particular. At some point, I will be writing a post about CEOs in CDramas, and Wang Yang will feature in some of the dramas I choose for it. Mujia’ s relationship with Lawyer Wu is definitely one of the show’s highlights for me.
Although I am only on Ep 15, I find that I like this show a lot. The character I like least is Li Guang - too self serving. Rong is a fabulous character and I hope she has a happy outcome. Mujia is growing on me. Lawyer Wu is dynamite - very well acted. The story overall is good. However, I don’t think the leads should be together. But, if it happens in the end, I won’t complain. It just means that finally, we get to see the truth from Li Guang for a change. By the way, the behind the scenes for each episode are great!
HE IS SO WEAK!Gawd, I can't take much more of him. This whole episode he is so frustrating. SJ must have had him…
@LA_DramaFan - I have never watched My Father Is Strange, but I have thought about it. I dropped Once Again at ep84 - but there was a lot to like about it. Five Enough is a fabulous show. Hyo Shim could be really good, depends on how Uee goes, I guess. I’m glad you liked King The Land. Although I was so so about it in the end, Yoon-ah and Jun-ho were beautiful together 😊

Well, my cure regarding both shows is watching My Dearest - now that’s a romance for the ages 😊
I’m really in the frame of mind to now just drop AOME . I found myself super ffwd through eps 102 - 106. I think it took me 15 mins and I didn’t miss a trick 🤣 As for TRHC - there is still a possibility it will finish strongly - but I feel the whole watermelon juice mum thing is a bit late to happen 🤔

So, I am looking forward to the next episode 😊
