Week 12 was very good. We don’t often get the level of resolution we have seen at this point in a daily drama. Not only that, it was very satisfying seeing a certain step mother get her just desserts although they all still let her run her mouth too much.
Some of my favourite moments were the camp scene, dinner between the psychiatric team and the young couple’s song Iced Americano. What about that dorky moment where Soo Ji hits Woo Ri with the door. Haven’t we all done something like that 😂
Show overall is going well. It’s been a long time since I have watched a daily drama that keeps me this engaged. It would be nice if in the remaining half, show doesn’t go down typical story pathways and we get some nice surprises along away. It’s a good cast and they deserve writing that will help them shine more than usual.
That would be awesome! Long overdue too. After the first punch I did think another would happen which it did, as it’s the only way to send the message home with someone like him.
Sean, I'm curious...I've seen your feedback on many series here and generally agree with them....Do you find this…
Thank you for your thoughts and comments on my feedback, LADF.
Perhaps I should have said, overall etc. Both of the points you have raised are quite perplexing to me and I have kept them in check for now as the other aspects of the show outweigh them. I like the performances by both leads, I really like the second couple and as for the veteran actors, I know many here are very critical of their characters, but they are putting on a good, classic show.
Now with that being said, with MaRi, I keep hoping this particular issue gets wrapped up soon. Her character deserves much better. Pil Seung could have been her de facto brother without the writer going down this path. A blogger friend of mine has been critical of kdramas re this sort of storyline previously and I suspect if this show was on her radar, she would write quite the expose.
I am very disappointed stalker guy is back in the frame. Again, I am hoping that JY or other circumstances deals with him quickly. The guy is a monster. I am watching Crash at the moment (it is very good) and the stories are based on actual cases, about people who are just as ugly as we see here.
At the end of the day, if both of these issues continue on with their current trajectory, I won’t be FFing, I will just drop it. That would be a shame because I was hoping the show would be more about how Pil Seung helps JY/DR get back to where she belongs.
Ep 22 - I enjoyed both episodes. The ending to 22 is a classic cliff hangar courtesy of the second couple!
ISH continues to put in a fabulous performance, matching her acting to the requirements of each bit part she is playing as Ji Young starts her acting journey. I think JHW is also gathering steam and doing well but I would like to see Pil Seung reign it in a fraction 😉
End of Week 10 - another good week with some very funny moments that fortunately cancels out the more unpleasant ones - Napa Cabbage Angel and Radish Guru - hopefully you all watched the epilogue for Ep 47 as well. They had real fun 😂🤣😂
There is a lot to like about this show after the first two episodes. I like how Gwi Joo’s family have lost their superpowers due to modern calamities. Then there are the characters themselves: I think Gran is awesome, Gwi Joo’s trauma is understandable, some of us can relate to Dong Hee and Yi Na is fragile but strong at the same time. As for the huckster family - I really like their dynamic, how they share their own little in jokes and how dorky they really are.
I think show has real potential and Gwi Joo and Da Hae are pivotal to this. We are already seeing some genuine flashes of understanding one another. Gwi Joo wants to get better - he just doesn’t know how. Da Hae wants some certainty and being appreciated for who she really is, but lives in a world that requires her to put her immediate family first.
End of Wk6 - Eps 25-27 were quite good. Then, the sabotaged press conference happened and I found myself fast forwarding through eps 28 - 29 out of pure frustration. Show has a lot going for it. Let’s hope the focus changes soon.
Sigh. I still haven't started. I am just curious. Does the male lead work? Like is he a genius lawyer or something? All…
He is a superb lawyer - smart, loyal, sharp, resourceful, ex special forces and saves her family many times over. It’s a great part and a superb piece of acting 🤩🤩🤩
End of Wk2 - I thought we had good all round entertainment. There were some very funny moments, the background to a certain first love, ongoing ungracious sister antics 😂, A Ra being adorable and U Ri’s younger sister consolidating herself as a make up artist. Overall, show moves at a good pace.
