Here we are after episode 10. This show continues to be amazing. The way the writer has managed to evoke all the emotions and keep the different storylines interesting with the director drawing out some very fine performances along with the ability of the actors all lead to wow!
The one thing for me that is truly great about this show is the message of no matter how many times you get knocked down, it’s how you pick yourself back up, dust yourself off and keep going that is the key. People really do care for one another - you just need to find the right people who do.
I’m still not sure how it will all end, but I bet there is a twist in there somewhere.
The first 15 minutes of this drama was superb. Then I found I didn’t enjoy the rest of episode one at all. Still, I came back and gave it another go. It really did take off after episode two and was very good. However, I found episodes 13 and 14 did not quite gell for me and so I am now walking away. It’s a shame really, because Grand Prince has a very good cast and there are times when the acting is quite good. The story for me has lost its way and I’m not sure it warrants the number of episodes listed.
Season 1 was okay, but Season 2 is so much better. Five episodes in and it’s shaping up really well. The story is interesting, the acting is very good and it has a bit of everything.
After 8 episodes in, 1006 is turning into a really good show. It’s very watchable. Our leads are producing a good performance and their interaction with one another is really great. What’s not to like: there’s a time warp, murder, mysteries, biased court processes and media reporting and some very strong romantic elements.
Well, I can't say I enjoyed episode 11 at all. It was too up and down for me. There were some really good elements contrasted against some very annoying ones. Also, I feel the second leads have now suffered a similar fate that most do in such shows - which is a shame because they started out as really good characters. Is the magic tree really needed? No. The potions, maybe. Let’s hope episode 12 gets back on track!
My Ahjussi continues to be an outstanding program. In fact, for me, it is one of the three best shows I have ever seen, and I hope it stays that way (Korean dramas from my point of view tend to take a nosedive after such strong performances).
This show is so well made and the storylines for each character are compelling. The wife in my view is despicable (brilliantly acted, because it is such a tough role). She does feel guilty, but at the end of the day won’t really do anything to salvage her marriage, let alone actually stop her husband from being harmed.
My Ahjussi is dealing with very difficult issues and showing them in a way that strikes deep within a person’s soul. It also has those little glimmers of heart, and I hope they continue. For me this show doesn’t have to be about how love may triumph over betrayal and misfortune, it just needs to keep building on how important it is to care for others.
Overall, this is a very good drama. There are some great characters, brilliant one liners at times, along with some very funny, beautiful and sad moments. What I did find along the way is that I became more interested in the relationship between Shin Joo Yeong and Gong Hyeon Seok - because it was a very passionate one. The only reason I gave it 9/10 instead of 10/10 because some of the story points were laboured or overdone. Still, if you have the time, it’s well worth a look.
The first four episodes have been fantastic. Switch reminds me a lot of the UK show Hustle (another excellent drama). I’m sure we will get to see what the long “con” or hustle will be down the track. Although a romantic angle is always nice in a show, it’s not really needed for something like this, but I’m sure love will bloom in there somewhere.
