A very good, taut thriller with a classic ending. The filming, locations and set direction were A1 and the acting was top notch. I downloaded it and watched it on a flight and then I had to watch the ending when I got to my destination. What would you do if you were chosen?
Try looking for Something in the Rain in your watch history. You will need to go into your Netflix account, then look for your profile (My Profile) and then click on Viewing Activity. Something in the Rain should be listed there. Click on Something in the Rain and then it should link you through. If you are still having an issue, there is also a Report a Problem link to Netflix In your Vieing Activity next to the last episode you watched.
At the halfway mark all I can say is: wow and wow and more wow.
There is a lot going on here besides the incredible romance (and let’s hope it keeps building and growing and doesn’t derail at some point. These two just nail it so naturally).
Is her Mum annoying etc? Yes, but what a piece of great acting - naturally portrayed along with most of the other characters in this drama. The Dad is marvellous. The stirring of each other (the women) in the workplace - you do have to smile. The sequence with the friends younger girlfriends etc says a lot about how the future can be embraced and what a lovely person Jin Ah really is.
As for the ex - yes, well, say no more. I think everyone agrees there needs to be a final solution. And maybe we have that now.
The revolution in the workplace and the office politics - great stuff. It’s nice to finally see this issue being dealt with wholeheartedly in a Korean drama. We still need to see which way the CEO will go, but he seems to be a realist.
If you noticed how our fabulous couple were watching the movie Singing in the Rain (a romantic comedy considered the greatest musical of all time and one of the all time great movies) during episode 5, it says something about this drama overall when you look at the words to this movies’ central song:
Why am I smiling And why do I sing? Why does September Seem sunny as spring? Why do I get up Each morning and start? Happy and head up With joy in my heart Why is each new task A trifle to do? Because I am living A life full of you.
I really enjoyed this show. In fact it’s one of my all time favourites. I liked the different contrasts re the characters and the many imperfections they had. I thought the leads had good chemistry and the challenges to their relationship I found compelling because I wanted things to work out for them. That aside, the songs in the opening and closing credits are the best you will hear regarding any show. Magical.
Just when I thought it was losing its way a little bit, episode 13 was a cracker of an episode and refocused the whole story. I’m looking forward to what happens next.
I thought this movie was very good. In fact for this type of movie it was well executed, entertaining with plenty of action throughout and very funny with a nice romantic element throughout. And yes, the translator was fabulous. It was a very nice way to spend the afternoon.
Three episodes in and what an enjoyable romp it is. It is funny with plenty of intrigue and scheming happening as well as budding romance. Our heroine is cheeky, knows how to save a situation and is a fine chef to boot. A big thumbs up ????
I felt that the story leading up to the 20th episode was trying to be too clever. Then it felt like it was being drawn out with a forced outcome. The reveal at the end of the 20th episode is what I expected, but a good recovery of the story nonetheless. So, up until episode 12 it was a 10 for me, but is now sitting at 8.5. It’s still a real hoot though.
On the whole quite good with a good premise from start to finish. Yes, our hero is a little over the top, but you do get used to it. There is good acting and storylines throughout and a nice two episode finale to the series with a nice little twist (which you will probably guess along the way).
I’m very glad I finished this show. It’s just a delight from the beginning to the end. The humour, the serious moments and the romance all blend so well together. Even if you think there might be a gap here or there - just go with it. Make sure you watch the final episode all the way to the end, because it’s quite clear that there is going to be another series as others have already said.
