The villain here has to be the dumbest villain ever. His motivation for committing so much atrocities was that his nephew (who was a child at the time!) accidentally caused the fire that killed his mom. Really dude?????
My feelings too..I mean theres nothing more entertaining i have seen this year
I haven't watched K dramas in almost three years. This would be the second one I'm watching, Itaewon Class being the first, and I agree with you. The criticisms are so irrational and unfair that you can tell they are not being made in good faith. Like criticising it for poor character development and romance. Ma'am! Characters and their relationships are supposed to develop and change over the course of the series NOT in FOUR episodes! TF were they expecting lol
People dislike the negative comments in here, the thing though is if the writing was better 90% of these comments…
I agree but what exactly is bad about the writing? People that criticise the drama never elaborate on their point or give examples of the bad writing they're referring to. If it truly is as bad as they claim, there should be example galore but alas, there are none.
chen is definitely not a rounded actor. for now, he does a very good bravado, and not much beyond.bad actors with…
I know those women face a lot of criticisms for their acting, which I think are unduly harsh. They're not the best but their not awful either. When you look at the roles they take on, what do people expect? Oscar winning performances? I don't set a ridiculous high bar for actors, I just expect them to do a good enough job, which is simply to give a believable performance. It does not have to be exceptional.
Did both leads do something wrong or what? The criticisms of this drama are so ludicrous and petty that if I didn’t know better, I’ll say there’s a concerted effort to undermine the drama.

Chile grow tf up! This is a public forum for people to share their views (good or bad) on dramas and movies. If you’re incapable of tolerating views that differs from yours then get tf off the site. It is not for infantile pricks that cannot engage in respectful discourse about a tv show. Arthur Chen is a bad actor and he has no incentive to be a better one because: 1) he knows he will continue to undeservedly be given leading roles due to his father’s influence; and 2) he has vain delusional decrepit cunts like yourself ready to hurl abuse at those that rightly criticise his acting.
Now, next time you come across a post critical of your fave, unless you can defend them without stooping to insults, I suggest you keep scrolling. If you think you’re a bad keyboard warrior, I’m worse. Don’t ever try me again kid.

What are you on about? Yang Zi is a brilliant actor and Yang Mi is quite good. Dilraba is also a decent actor that unfortunately chooses poor scripts. Arthur Chen however is really bad. His martial arts performances are top notch but when he’s not doing that, his acting is so bad that it distracts and takes you out of the fantasy drama. It was the same thing with ever night but because of how good the story was and the wonderful performance of the rest of the cast, he grew on me and I could look past his shoddy performance.
Nah. Arthur Chen is a terrible TERRIBLE actor. It’s actually pissing me off that there has been no improvement in his acting since Ever night. It’s bad enough that you’re taking roles from more talented and deserving actors, the least you can do is apply yourself and get some training. Nepotism and good looks can only take you so far.
ALRIGHT! its gotten so much better! Now that Xiao Yu has toned down the goofiness, the actor is really starting to impress! The other twin is pissing me off though. I can't stand self-righteous people.
Debating whether to watch this or not...there are 8 episodes out on Netflix at the moment...has any one seen them…
I'll avoid. You will not be missing much. One of the twin is dull and emotionless but his story line is actually a bit interesting. And the actor playing him is okay. He doesn't really have much to do with the character. The other twin, however, is annoying as fuck. This is the worst version of the stereotypical funny mischievous character you see in wuxia dramas. The actor is really REALLY BAD! He overacts and exaggerate everything. The character itself and the actions and motivations are incoherent. He does things that makes no sense or serves no purpose other than to be ... you know... that guy. The funny one. The clever one or whatever the hell they're going for. The drama is truly at its weakest when its focused on the annoying twin. His story just draggggggggggs. Like ep10 is a perfect example of this. The female characters are pointless. I don't even wanna go there.
Continue it for Chen Zhe Yuan. He's carrying the whole series so far on his back. Give it more episodes, it looks…
No he’s not. He’s the weakest link. He’s overacting, exaggerating his expressions. His poor acting skills has turned a mischievous character into an annoying obnoxious brat.

He really did grow on me in Ever Night and although Dylan was a better actor in season 2, it just didn't feel right.
