I do agree with that, I think JJY can carry many dramas on her own, she has a certain image so certain characters fit her better. I think in this case it’s because this is one of my absolute favorite novels so I have higher expectations for it.
Also this character is not a typical disciple role, she’s a “salted fish” so she has to portray someone who has no care in the world, in a humorous way. I think JJY is too pretty for it, not saying WLY is not but this character is similar to her role in IAN so I think she would be amazing.

Not all actresses can play this part, even my favorite actress ZLS would have ruined this character if she was casted. The characters personality is very unique. Honestly what did I say that’s so “hating” on JJY, I’m talking about the character in the novel, I don’t think her image would fit so yeah it would have ruined the character for me.
