Here is my point of view. The story of this drama starts when Su Mu Yu was young. Actor playing Su MuYu in TBOY looks too mature for Su MuYu in this drama. In TBOY, both Su Mu Yu and Su Chang He were around middle age and I guess their story was also the end of this drama. In Dashing Youth, actor playing Su MuYu is younger and may be more suitable but he's a new and in-experienced actor so he cannot play the main role yet. Gong Jun is not too young nor too mature so he is the perfect fit for the role Su Mu Yu in this drama. I have no doubt in Gong Jun's acting and his appearance is an extra point.
