Has potential, in a way, I guess.
Aggravating FL does not do her actual job (you can't let people off with crimes as a police officer just because you know them?? that's called being a crooked cop, and ML is right to be put off by it at first) and constantly ignores ML's boundaries, plays oblivious to 2nd ML's feelings, sticks her nose in everywhere and we're somehow supposed to be charmed enough to watch more than a few episodes? The background characters have more charm. It started off strong as a set-up for a rom-com about a big shot city guy finding excitement and love in the countryside, which already loses some points for the strong cliché, but adding an unrequited love triangle, childhood friends to lovers trope, and a grating FL? I personally probably won't be able to watch it all the way through. I keep waiting for it to redeem itself but I really don't think it will.Was this review helpful to you?

Ruined by the ending.
I was guilty-pleasure watching this, because the acting was kinda not great but I have a soft spot for half-demons and cultivators. I was willing to look past the fact we forgot about dear old dad as soon as they hopped on the boat, and about Mu Yao and Liu Fuyi inspiring no feelings in me at all, and even the whole second love interest storyline (really? the half-brother? and everyone just accepted that she switched up in the blink of an eye from being repulsed to in love and engaged?) but that ending...of course, it's one of those. Modern-day uglier-with-short-hair ML has been secretly in love with her forever and he just so happens to be her favourite author, seriously? I don't even know what to say. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but beware the last episode. They got me good, sniveling like booboo the fool out here. Woo Dohwan, the actor that you are, really....I have nothing else of value to say so here are some extra words to reach the minimum 500 characters; Cornstarch. Amphetamines. Supernova. Limousine. Rottweiler. Defenestration. Christmas. Cerebellum. Tonsillectomy. Is this enough? I seriously underestimated how many 500 is.
It's not??? My god, someone put me out of my misery. I don't wanna go into more details about how I felt about it, the last episode drained me of all emotions for at least the next week, and a critic I am not. I am a simple woman, don't make me go bonkers.
