For a write off to happen with only 2 episodes to go- thats not a series issue, but a production/budget issue. That's an entirely different type of hurry scurry. Shame too, I would have preferred the wedding ending to the OE.
It is a HE if anyone's wondering. It's definitely a 7/10. watched it while I meal prepped for the week and it…
You are spot on for what this is perfect for...Watching while meal prepping, cleaning, or doing any task where watching is secondary not primary. It really was decent enough to be entertaining, but if you actually watch it...the flaws just jump right out.😅
The most likely reason for the episode discrepancy is censorship. Usually it is only 1 or two episodes in the run. Now don't ask me what rules they broke to get the whole episode pulled vs the scene within it. I don't know censored policy. I have just seen WAY too many and not enough dramas 😇 and asked years ago myself😅. Now if it was 3 or more episodes the it would be more likely to be a bad series that was told to write-off and as an example an expected 24ep series to only run 20 or 36 to end at 32 these are classic write off series where unfortunately the screenwriters were told to wrap up the story earlier than planned forcing alot of poorly finished "rushed" endings. I'm sure you have seen some. I suppose this could still be a write off vs censorship only because the ending did feel rushed to the finish line, it's just not typical with only 2 episodes to go..Which do you think?
tysm my goal is generally to accurately describe the experience of watching a drama without giving anything away…
Ah very true, I did forget the small "detour" the series took before it pulled itself back on track. I guess I am a bit more forgiving for wayward storylines (to a point), I still stand by the 10 for it's oh so many other greater qualities 😇. I do however, fully understand and appreciate your rating.🌺
ladies and gentlemen, please keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times...prepare yourself for a thrilling dopamine rush never offered by any other c-drama in such high quantities. This rollercoaster will take you down the rabbit hole and through scenic wonderland. So please check your logic at the gates and enjoy the ride!
Your masterful review was able to creatively capture the core essence and perfectly described this high octaine, dopamine inducing journey down the rabbit hole of Affinity to a tee without so much as a whisper of hint to any spoilers. Bravo!
After just watching Speed and Love and seeing what was censored (check the BTS to see what could have been😔) ***And then see Affinity...OMG. All I can say is DL it now before it does get censored and edits are made like other series before them or it gets pulled all together.
Lastly, I must politely disagree on the rewatch value. this deserves a solid 10. So rare is it that a series can creates something memorable that makes you want to go back and watch it all over again *Before* you actually finished watching the series. That's the best I can do without hints🤐
I think there needs to be a new category of endings for these dramas and this one certainly fits that criteria...CE, as in Confusing Ending. if you have to come to the comment section to find the explanation as to how it ended that certifies it as a CE. Was is SE,BE,or HE 🤷♀️..the fact that the actors had to come out and explain the ending says volumes, to which I'm glad they did. As the saying goes: "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back." 😉 So this cat's curiosity has been satisfied thanks to the comments here and actor's explanations❤️
is it that good to be a 8.9 drama?? i haven't watched it yet, but just wondering.. because these days on this…
I think it boils down to their chemistry. It's was so beautiful and natural that it gave it a graceful flow throughout the whole series. While the story was entertaining, just watching the two of them interact (IMHO) nearly stole the show. 😅
It's an easy watch for a near G rated Yakuza romance. It is the perfect capture of damsel in distress who meets her soulmate. Unfortunately, his side of the story really doesn't get told very well. But in hindsight sight, you really don't get to know much about any prince charming yet know the whole life story of the princess, so really shouldn't be all that surprising. It didn't break any molds and the story telling may have suffered due to length of series, but it was still enjoyable to watch.
Agreed, not only in the family was he treated unfairly but in the series as a whole. Whether intentional or not, the series treated the son more like a step child (or minor support character) than a full blown member of the family. The accountant recieved more screen time and apparently a stronger focus on his emotional connection to the Father than his own son's. Even the hair stylist had more of a story than the son did. he was a "barely there" character and then the last episode it was oh yeah his issues...and in one conversation poof all better...while everyone else's issues took the whole series to resolve. It's more like a big missed opportunity that could have made the story more dynamic. (IMHO)
This was such a well thought out crafty and sly way of portraying something naughty in such a cute and fun way. Ahhh, the metaphors...how can eating a bowl of rice make me blush!!!🤣🤣🤣 A really cute romance story that has made it to the rewatch list for sure.
Wow, I think this may have been the first time I ever watched parts of a series hidden behind my hands🫣😍 and it wasn't because it was scary!(*In such a wonderfully good way*) 🤣🤣🤣
perfect example of how to shock and awe ( aka piss off) your viewers the last 20 seconds of the series and destroy any good feelings they had for it...😂
