But the very first episode of her being in the modern world and having a car crash, should have told you that this was where the story was going to end as well. Transmigratory stories whether its a dream, soul swapping, artifact, writers creation, celestial event, ect. They always, always, always without fail (whether Cdrama or Kdrama) sends the traveler back home. Now depended on the it is HE, SE or OE is the outcome of the travelers romantic entanglement. That being said though, they did a fantastic job compared to most. normally you just get a hint that the "soul mate" finds them. this while albeit brief but memorable lines that connect them, and leave no doubt they recognize each other (at the bare minimum she does).

Unfortunately it is missing the last 30 seconds at the end of the final episode🤦‍♀️. Whoever edited it should be fired...because that is the only logical explanation 🤷‍♀️. (Please note this statement is dripping with sarcasm💦)

Do alot of people a favor and don't forget to mark this as a spoiler please. Especially when to give away how character's end up (or who the end up with, or don't, at the end.) 😮‍💨

That was a hot mess. The ending is appropriate as that is about how you feel trying to watch and understand the story as it is all over the place.

I haven't read the novel, so unfortunately I can't make the comparison. However, from the perspective of just watching the series as many people will undoubtedly do this is the impression the screenwriters leave you with(IMHO).

I personally am a HE person, there is enough SE in the real world as it is. I don't need fictional ones. That said... this one almost changed my mind (almost). I would have had this on my top 5 rewatch list had it been an HE.😉

The ending wasn't open it was horribly sad! They chose to end their lives in a double suicide. Unfortunately, you have to realize they were already married -had even served parents tea ect. when they made their wish to "elope" so in this case it meant something else. at the end you see both ML & FL in front of the white olive tree in their wedding license clothes (white shirts and jeans) and ethereal stars and twinkles around them as they are now spirits (ghosts).

And for obviously reasons Dr. Pei's and Ben's relationship didn't work. To take it as touch sadder Sabin, traumatized, even took over Ben's identity (name) in the end. And if you truly want to break down the characters...Noone got a good or happy ending.. not a single character was left untouched.

That said though, it was still such a good set of actors and the soundtrack and visuals were stunning. If you can handle the trauma it's a great story. but it is definitely one of those- like it or not, seriously nooo halfway for this type of drama.

for those who don't want to know what it is but where it is... you can find this cute little gem after all the credits roll on eps 34.

At the very end of the credits thier daughter meets the wise profit who tries several times to hand her the book her mom had the chronicles of the world telling her it can have different endings after several attempts she finally agrees. Thus setting in motion her following in her mother's foot steps.

I have heard "Curiosity killed the cat"...so I shouldn't tell you and let you discover it on your own.
However I also heard "Satisfaction brought it back"...so the spoiler is down below.😉

I love the little easter egg at the tail end of eps. 34.

☣️ Bad filming and costume errors/decisions:

🚧🚧 FL's poorly placed/ill-fitted press-on nails drove me to a fit of giggles the first time I saw them. Camera shadows, boom fails, props falling apart mid action sequence yet still kept the cut (the end of FLs hilt came off mid swing and can be seen flying off screen). There are plenty more can you spot them all?😉

☣️ Hilarious bad action/romance sequences

🚧🚧 Or lack there of, in almost all action fights people literally stood still and accepted to be stabbed or shot (arrow)🤣. A very passionless romance: 1 butterfly kiss, and 1 regular kiss.

☣️ Subpar acting with frozen chemistry.

☣️ Lastly and worst of all the horrible subtitling problems:

🚧🚧 Especially on eps23 where nearly the whole eps is missing translation. So many subtitles throughout the series will be a repeat of the previous sentence, and yet if you think this is just an English only problem you would be wrong, this series suffers subtitling problems across the board.

I thought similar to you as that was straight forward and made the most sense in the moment (it has been overly done in other dramas -though usually they tend to completely knock it out of the way and save the day) all the way up till Kang Ju gave his explanation then it felt more like Yan Zijing's style of deep forethought of planning things and calculating ahead. That's where I got swayed. However, if this is the explanation given in interviews and whatnot that's better than a guess from a viewer perspective. Wouldn't it be interesting if both were true? Yes he shot the deadly arrow out of the way but knowing his less deadly arrow would hit her making it look like he did it...ect. ect. instead of aiming at LK and taking him out instead or taking the arrow out further away from her?

I agree with you. There was so much development in the characters and the story in the first part and then they get to the store and it's like brakes are applied, half measures, rush jobs and a dozen mini plots that try to tie into nothing but anticlimactic "moral of the story parable" sound byte ending. It could have been so much more, and it left so many questions. And no before I get a bunch of goofy comments I get he died that is not one of the questions. ;p

That's not correct. He knocked LK's (head of bandits) arrow out of the way and shot her intentionally because he did not want her to know that the Black bandits had infiltrated his caravan and that they were the ones who slaughtered all her friends not his guards. He knew that if she knew the truth it would most likely set her on a path of vengeance and hatred as well. instead he shot her and took all the blame onto himself forcing her to hate him instead (or so he thought).
