I think we have seen that yjx is being played or manipulated by his own parents but what if that's my theory:

He is their pet project or chess piece from the start like everything is being dictated in his life according to them directly or indirectly. Whether he amounts to something or not that's a separate discussion like if Yjx is somewhat capable they keep him around.

But what if he is their safety net like yk they are on a higher political level and shit can go wrong and he is their fall guy who better to appease your enemies if they get better of you than your blood

Don't get me wrong there is somewhat motherly love from madam yu but what confuses me that he can't be the main villian I am not getting "the guy" energy from him unless he goes through massive character change in the later half of the show.
