Ah. I'm only on eisode 7 but it feels like the chemistry was lost after the memory loss bridge scene? I thought they would develop some sort of antagonistic relationship after that or at least SHE would remember her feelings but then they just start to hang out and focus on the investigation. I'm not really feeling it. Interested to see how it will develop but it doesn't seem to be taking the direction I imagined it would.

Was looking for a Qing Dynasty drama after Empresses in the Palace. This is a much lighter, cuter vibe with a Rooftop Prince/ Queen Inhyuns Man feel and adorable leads so a nice break from the heavier harem style dramas, hope it stays light and sweet. One for those who complain about ugly old emperors perhaps. Someone's called it a Walmart Bu bu Jing Xin lol but I'm kind of loving it. Only a few episodes in so will revisit to review fully.

Yes, the antagonists didn't do a whole lot. I also felt that the reason for the existence of the Bo Xuan persona should've been explained earlier than it was as I didn't understand what was going on for a while. Maybe something was lost in translation or I'm just stupid.

I felt like this drama didn't heat up until ep 38-9. Kinda dragged til then tbh.

Same. I tried to love it. It got better but I still didn't rate it for the reasons you describe. I just can't find anything to rival Ten Miles.

I have and I loved that. I think that's why I was not expecting this FL. But I'm on ep 12 now and warming up more to Xuan Ji and the loveless mask has thrown a new dynamic into the story too.

Struggling to get into this on episode 4. I thought Xuan Ji's lack of senses was going to make her some sort of intuitively smart character but she comes across as a simpleton. Usually it's the side characters who have the super breathy, super fast, garbled, little girl speech in Cdramas, I don't think I can deal with a FL doing it all the way through. Also Ling Longs hair is really annoying. It's obvious she has a shorter style irl and the costume crew have just stuck some pieces in the back. Looks very fake and unaesthetic. Hope Xuan Ji undergoes a radical character development or I might just drop this. Holding on for now since people are saying it's the best drama they've ever seen but I'm dubious.

Finished this drama now and it would have been excellent if not for the repeated use of the ridiculous "disguise technique" Come on, I hardly think the prosthetic technology was so advanced in that era, not to mention turning petite women into statuesque males. They really should have found a better method of presenting the plots and schemes of the evil characters in a drama where there was no magic or supernatural forces at work.

Ultimate vengeance movie. Dark, sombre, life, death themes. Sad. Beautifully filmed.

He needs to move on. Hating and holding grudges forever doent help him or anyone and he is even willing to see a little girl kicked out on the streets and scream and rant in front of her. Adults with kids should be better role models. He's just prolonging the familys pain.
