To me the ambiguity was the scariest thing, I was scared to see an outcome of "woman is possessed so it's…
I think some people may have missed the possession point. The kids were saying that maybe he is possessed because he was hitting her. But the reality was shown- he wasn't possessed at all, he was just a shitty abusive husband. The commentary to me was that it doesn't matter how nice a person is through the day or to everyone else in their life, they can still go home and be a monster, to the point that they seem to be possessed.
The spirit that was following him seemed to be the woman who possessed the wife. The twist was that the husband wasn't possessed at all, the wife was, and the only thing that could drive her to fight back or be so violent was the spirit.
I am impressed that they showed the different ways that people react to situations like that- especially in places where filial piety is more of a focus in society. Many people would turn a blind eye, or tell their friends not to get involved because it's not their business. But both Khem and Chan have shown that they don't agree with that approach- Khem with the little boy being abused, Chan when he told the elder about the abuse.
That being said, the resolution was horrendous. The "they've rekindled their love" comment was like a slap across the face. The only redeeming thing was that the husband left so he couldn't hurt her anymore for the time being. Khem was grossly naive about everything, Peem was closer to the point but also pessimistic without offering any alternatives, like that the wife should leave the husband.
The ending was the best part of this drama. In my opinion some people are way too obsessed with whether something…
I personally look for happy endings specifically because if it's sad then I end up depressed for days after (literally not figuratively, it's an actual problem.) Not sure if it's that way for others but I really am not looking to depress myself just for a drama, you know?
It sucks because I think that sad endings can actually make a story better or more impactful, but my brain lacks the serotonin to cope with them at the moment.
They should have just put an insta filter over his face if they were going to do the beard like that. How many people saw him looking like that and thought "hmm, good enough!"???
What keeps me coming back to this despite how cringey the first few episodes are is (spoiler in next comment)
The fact the Nuea was just as into the fact the Toh was essentially stalking him, as Toh was into following him around. Even before they really started talking, you can tell that Nuea is totally into this little nerdy sub boy that is obsessed with him. That's why he toys with him so much, he likes it. They're freaky in different ways, its almost like a shared kink, and thats why they work. I can see why Toh's behaviour, especially episode 1 & 2, can make people uncomfortable, but the main point is that Nuea LIKED it, which immediately changes the dynamic for me. Once they get together, its a very cute relationship and Nuea is very understanding of Toh's idiosyncrasies.
Currently on ep 3 I'm not really liking the whole plot of FL obsessing over Black. Does it get better ??
She has her reasons for being obsessed, but the over-enthusiastic fan-girling dies down a bit, and she isn't creepy about it. I admit not being a fan of her in Episode 1 when she was trying to find out who he is but she calms down a lot.
The funniest thing about this drama is that Yan Cheng and Shu Bo are both like "Wow, this girl lies enough to be studied" and then they both proceed to fall for her almost immediately. Like at no point were they concerned that she lies SO MUCH that it is worth her being the main part of their study?
(This is not me bashing the show, I'm actually really enjoying it.)
Why the Boss rented the apartment in the first place even though he has his villa? was it ever explained?
He was moving back to a place where he used to sleep well to try to cure his insomnia (it was where they first started their company. ) He stayed because Cheng Yao actualy ended up helping it instead. I don't blame you for forgetting though, they only seem to use his insomnia as an excuse to get him to live with her...
I dont know if it's just the translation I'm watching, but the amount of "wh*re"s and "sl*t"s being tossed around as insults by these wives makes me feel like I'm back in highschool 😅
Everytime Gu Sheng takes something from their store I get so stressed for her family 🥲
Both of her grandparents were doctors so I am going off the idea that their family is well-off and the store is just kind of a fun side business for them or something. It seems to do quite well being beside the hospital. Doing inventory for them would be a nightmare though!
Lol..I'm watching billy for the first time in The Sign and then i got know about secret crush on you so i tried…
It gets a little less cringe as it goes on but it's pretty bad at first. Billy is awesome in it though, and weirdly enough if you give it time you realize that his character is almost as weird as Toh so it evens out a bit lol. I've rewatched it once but I had to skip the first couple of episodes because I just can't haha.
