Writers did the most
Yes it is good, novel, epic, and quite enjoyable. The only negative is also the downfall because the writers did too much.
First of all it is a risky move to set up a show/movie and have you form attachments and interest only to make the rest of the movie a flashback and never see the main characters again to the end. Imo it never works, and undermines all the creative and detailed plot; but it kind of works here but still enough to be it's undoing.
I like that the writers room had a very detailed history for even the most irrelevant characters but you have to pick and choose what to keep on the screen and a lot of it was unnecessary to be filmed in such detail for this format. I'm sure they already condensed and cut a lot we didn't see but it felt like three different shows crammed into one without doing justice to the ones I was invested in.
I do think it's worth watching for it's novelty but just know what you're getting into.
