Yep it's definitely a cute fluff show and I can see why it's a hit for a mostly younger fanbase. Just disappointing…
I strongly believe that if I don't like, didn't enjoy, even hate some movie or series that doesn't make those bad, and it doesn't make me bad. It's just an emotion that doesn't define the whole production team or actors. We can obviously pinpoint what could be done better, where are weak points, etc, but that is not offensive unless of course it is expressed in an offensive manner. I also know for the fact that many of the shows I loved were really really bad. Like if I had to write a professional review, I would say how bad was writing, acting, camera, dialogues, etc, etc, but that still didn't stop me from enjoying it very much. You know, it's so bad it's good situation))). I just wish people were genuinely kinder and more aware that there are other people with their different opinions, and they all need to peacefully coexist. That makes our world more interesting.
Can anyone from Korea explain to me what everyone finds offensive? Because you can't seriously be so enraged about a few beads on someone's head piece.
I was absolutely not going to watch this drama, because all of Korean romcoms follow all the same clichés that I already am bored of - intriguing first episode, still interesting for the next 6 and then ridiculous stalling for next 6 with the most stupid ending. But the amount of backlash against these series that flooded my social media feeds peaked my interest and I decided to take a look, and that was the best decision! This is one of the best Korean series I have seen. I enjoyed literally every bit of it. One annoying cliché slipped through tho - the rich hot and virgin male lead who only ever loved one woman since high school, but I forgive it, because it kinda made sense in this setting, and every character had wonderful twist to it and strong well built character. I gave it 9.5 rating, because I enjoyed myself immensely. People need to chill about hating fiction they see on screen. I understand being triggered, but I genuinely don't understand what's here to be triggered about since it fully imaginary setting, zero chance to be historical, etc. And god I loved the actors so much, even the boy who played the young king was amazing!

Omg man chill. I second that comment - if you like at least some level of maturity and dislike childish stories, you will not enjoy it. No one is dictating anything, it's just the opinions we have.

Yes, this! It's sweet childish behaviour for a child, when you see someone adult (and I assume they are around 20 years old since they are at the university and they drink and drive and all) like that you question if they are slow in their development? Be unserious once in a while is great, but all the time? I know I avoid people like that. I understand that they went in with golden retriever and black cat characters, but it's a bit too literal, especially in a non-fantasy setting. Speaking of uncomfortable, Duang is still so much better than that lobster guy from Secret crush on you. I get cringe shivers even thinking about it.
we really can't dictate what people enjoy. the bl viewers on here (and in general) definitely prefer light romcoms…
Yes, same. Why do you think it is? I saw a a statistics of BL viewers average age and it was 13. Obviously children and adults can't (and shouldn't) enjoy the same things. In that regard I am really happy that BLs started promoting healthy consensual relationships at least.
I think I am getting too old for this childish nonsense, because I was falling asleep few times per episode even at x2 speed. Not my thing. Surprised by such high ratings. Everyone is cute but what is even the plot 🙈
That is not what queerbating is at all. The sexual orientation of actors has nothing to do with it, just like making a good BL doesn't for all that matter. Queerbating means that the show or a movie creates a queer vibe, romantic trope, chemistry between two non-heterosexual characters thay lead you to believe they are a queer (LGBTQ+) romance couple, only to later prove you wrong and destroy any future for them. This doesn't mean it ends in drama, it's like this show - main leads were dancing and romancing - oogling each other, speaking of love, making promises to be together forever and then boom - show reveals they are brothers switched at birth, so any possibility of romance completely ruined, now they are two bros. Queerbating is happening in visual media to attract audience, but coming all "clean" afterwards. I always feel like it's a visual fraud of sorts.
This story has lots of twists and turn, make you happy for a minute and then gave setback and the endinding of…
Omg I watched the previous version and still am enjoying this, despite the dread I know I will feel. But still I have hopes for a sort of closure which previous one lacked.
I watched the original so I can spoil it for you if you want 😏
In the previous version his younger brother is also gay and he wants to have a romantic gay relationship, but thinks that family will not accept 2 gay sons, hence he wants to push Chen Yi Chen out of gay and into heterosexual relationship to appease their parents and basically sacrifice his brother's happiness for his own. Dickhead of a brother.
It's an interesting story with nicely paced development, unobvious plot twists, bits and pieces of love, selflessness and toxicity here and there, and it lacks any kind of childish goofiness which is recently what seems in most BLs for no reason, which makes this series a decent mature story. I binge watched it in a day and enjoyed myself a lot.
Wow look at you - blaming a woman for a domestic violence her brother commits! Why don't you victim blame his…
My faves? I have no idea who she is. I just saw an article that a woman has to officially do something about her idiot brother - society just took his blame off the man and hang it on his sister. I read this whole thing and your misogynistic comment. There is no maybes here, she can't and shouldn't influence her brother in anyway, and he should answer for his crimes personally by law. No woman can be called a bystander in man's violent acts . Stop promoting victim blaming.
This they say her brother’s second marriage , reportedly his ex wife also suffered so why did no one tell the…
Wow look at you - blaming a woman for a domestic violence her brother commits! Why don't you victim blame his wives too? Maybe his mother? His female teachers? His female neighbours? Don't you see the problem you are supporting? Who is a real bystander here? 🫵
