But like he was in love with his girl, took poison that tortured him for 100 years, finally finds her in a male body, hates situation immediately because he is not into men and thus can't undo the stone poison and is doomed to die even more painful death. But one morning he wakes up clearly attracted by the guy. The reaction should be "yesss, I am not going to die and have a hot lover" not "I am screwed" ))))
I was here to check if I am alone. Also dropping. Hope others enjoy!
Oh yes, some people take it as a personal offense that you don't like something. I never understood it. Even if someone hates something I love and enjoy why should I care? It's just series, like chill. And I also dropped a lot of series this year, I feel like finishing many that I hated from the beginning was a complete waste of time. The only series ever that had bad first episode that I didn't drop only becausey friend urged me to continue was The Sign. It's not without flaws, but I ended up enjoying myself. And yes, I used to think that if I don't like something I can keep it to myself, then I end up seeing only positive comments, start watching and hate it. Negative comments help reveal certain things I know I wouldn't enjoy, so scrolling through some saves a lot of time while choosing series. I really watched and still watch a lot, so I am a very picky viewer hehe.
As in π€¦πΎββοΈπ. I donβt even get the complaints. Haters gonna hate I guess ππ.
Hater is too strong of a word. Some are really aggressive about something and yes they are haters. There are people who just don't like something for whatever reason and they stop watching it. It's okay. Everyone is different, there are so many other series and everyone finds what they like. At least theh should.
genuinely wondering how you can call it slow when we are one episode in and loads happened within that first ep?
The pace of the story and the way it is outlined. Sometimes there is a lot of action going on, sometimes it is not. I don't mean action scenes like chase just changing frames and events. First example of currently ongoing fast paced BL series that come to mind is My love Mix up - although plot wise nothing really important is happening at the first glance and there are just school kids that are going to school, they study, have conflicts, go home, do stage play, etc. Another slow paced series is Never let me go - also school characters that do a lot of standing and long stares into horizon. I don't mean it is good or bad, it entirely depends on your mood and taste. But the fact is a fact - it is slow paced. Maybe it will pick it up - Love in Translation was slow at first but picked it up nicely. Sometimes it's the opposite - it begins wonderfully energetic but slows down.
I loved Daou in Love in Translation and was in awe by his singing talent (in all those languages, omg!), but the trailer was rather underwhelming, so I didn't have any hopes especially high, but still decided to watch the first episode and it didn't do anything for me. Guys have great chemistry, but that's it. The story is sort of dragging and painfully slow. Whoever gave Daou that haircut committed a crime. I am dropping in order to not leave any bad reviews. Slow romance with a lot of dramatic stumble-and-fall-on-your-destiny-with-shocked-facial-expression scenes is not my thing π
πI agree solely with ur point about rak's fashion, like SIR please stop tucking those shirts in! I feel like…
There are oversized clothes, and there are big, which makes it disproportionate instead of creating nice volume. Also if one article is oversized, another should preferably be slim fit to create a nice silhouette. Rak looks like a small boy stole clothes from his mother's closet and is playing fashion.
It's so boring omg! Empty dialogues and the plot doesn't make any sense at all.
Okay, but wasn't the boyfriend some kind of local mayor-like figure who promoted local businesses, ecological preservation of the sea, some marine biology stuff? And now he is just a paid hooker for hire, all of his misanthropy forgotten? Does this even make sense? Just like 22 minutes of grocery shopping and discussing how old 15 year old-looking Rak is getting old? If they got it on in the fitting room, got caught and fought about who's fault is that at the police station for 22 minutes, that would make more sense than "you cooked me an omelet that I ate cold at night so now I will buy you a suit" πππ
I really loved this story despite it being so old. The story is interesting, the main conflict is almost unique to the BLs - two guys love each other but one is juat not gay, and there is no going back to being friends. I wish there was another season, even if they never end up together, it's so interesting to explore the dynamics of their relationship. This is also rare that they have good female characters, who are kind of wholesome and don't make you feel second-hand embarrassment as is almost always the case with BLs. Male side characters are interesting too. These series are special, I loved it. I always feel that remakes are lame, but this is probably the first time I really wish someone made a remake and continued the story to season 2. I would love to read a novel, if someone knows where to find it in English, I would be forever grateful.
My guess is that, as already stated, these two additional episodes happen at the beginning or middle of their…
Wow, I thought at the end credit Hang Hang calls and agrees to be friends, and just goes on them being "normal friends" because he just loves Liang Zhe so much. Really sad there is just one season. Even if they never end up happy together, I would still love to watch at least another season. There is so much to explore.
Episode 5 is 22 minutes of grocery shopping, age-shaming of 27 year old, and empty nonsensical dialogues. I wonder if it can get worse than that. Rak eats nothing but then he eats cold omelet? Also unpopular opinion - I don't like what Rak wears most of the time. Couple of years from now when oversized clothes will finally go out of fashion, it will look like those horrid American fashion from 70s. Trendy doesn't mean stylish when it lacks taste.
