Honestly, at that point if she chose Cang2, the captor will know she is empress and I dun think he will let her go just for gold. Yes, Du didn’t do as told but I believe the emperor also wouldn’t expect she was asked to choose or she would be asked to chop her hand. Besides, I could feel her frustration, spending rest of her life trying to find cure, to protect ML, even if it risked being punished to death or being hated by ML, she would rather take it for the sake of the ML. I even feel her love is braver than ML’s love for FL. ML has decided to be in this power struggle, the most decent thing he could do is to stop showing FL that he actually loves her and let her quit hoping for true love from him…and yet he is afraid to be hated, but then also didn’t allow Du to tell FL the truth…wth? What exactly did he want??
I wonder how ML is going to punish Ms. Du when he's back home. He's obviously aware now she's up to no good regarding…

And she doesn’t use typical c drama ‘misunderstanding’ troupe by creating lies to make ML and FL misunderstand each other and hate each other. Instead, she always told the truth, even kept reminding FL that ML sacrificed a lot for her. So, I do not hate her so far, she is brave enough to do what’s need to be done to protect ML and the country.

I think it’s not sad for him at all! If I were him, I couldn’t be happier with any other options. Even if TLC managed to kill the villain, comes back to Sword’s sect, be a leader, clean all the misunderstanding, being worshipped as leader again etc…it’s still a lonely world to live in…no FZ, no LY, no CY…remember he survived 4 yrs with the motivation of getting FZ back, and planned to even lose his life for FZ? I don’t think he would survive continuing his life knowing everyone around him died because of his existence and he could not bring them back…even writing this already made me sad for TLC 🥲 I think the only better ending scene for me is to see him as that fox living in Zhoudi tower and being caressed under FZ’s lap…that would heal my pain 🥲

Well, without FZ, TLC wouldn’t get to this point I think. Even when he was unconcious and chose to stay in his dream, FZ made him realize about his new friends who needed him. I guess without his encounter with FZ, TLC would be a different person. FZ indeed made a good decision taking him in, believing he could be good. And TLC didn’t disappont FZ’s hope…their trust and loyalty to each other are just so beautiful…

I still cannot move on from Runyu though, still think Runyu is his iconic role that will stick forever. But TLC is his most beautiful portrayal. This drama gives me sooo much dose of LYX, I am high 😍

And yes, I think TLC did intentionally fall into their traps basically because he indeed wants to play the game and wants to meet LY. And yes, TLC and Ashei didn’t work and will never work, I am glad the drama stays true to it because I was also worried initially that it would betray the story by adding in romance to satisfy certain group of viewers…
Remember haters in the beginning dropped the rating from 8.3 to 7.9 in 1 hr? In reality, the score should be 8.4…
But honestly, I have learnt that a few dramas that I was in doubt to start before, and then I looked at MDL the rating were mostly below 8. And turned out I really liked those dramas. And some with rating even 9.8 were sooo cheezy and waste of time. I guess majority people here have different taste in drama from what I like…
