wooooow I never thought I would ever see a fake green screen kiss but yeah... there it is. Dunno if it's a Covid reason or something else but no other shows released recently in Phillipines or elsewhere did a fake kiss. So awkward. Olan is the best.
And what was the whole drama with the two families and the past, they brushed past that so quick even though they were building it up since the beginning.
This show had potential but it was quite off in places. They tried to do too much in a short time I think.
Can someone tell me if this is the kind of drama, where the guy who thinks he’s gay because he’s falling in…
Not really. That happens to the Second ML but the first ML finds out relatively early and then slowly comes to like her while protecting her secret. She doesn't know he knows though.
Spot on. I never really liked Earth in anything else he's done so far. He always seemed out of place and not quite…
OmG WaterBoys was not that great for him, so awkward. But I have also come to believe that New didn't help things either because he holds back so much I can feel it even when he was in Dark Blue Kiss opposite Tay. But Waterboy was also one of Earth's first gigs also. He's come a long way since then. Let's hope they find him more roles that aren't in a college setting anymore.
I would really love the sheet music arrangements for the theme tune. Its so beautiful and precious. The paino and then the strings come in... uuugh Chefs kiss
This was WHOLESOME and I so appreciated how each character had some nuance/growth even in small ways. My favorite…
Spot on. I never really liked Earth in anything else he's done so far. He always seemed out of place and not quite comfortable with his role but this role really suited him and brought out a side I haven't seen before. It was a good pairing too - Mix and Earth. They brought out the best acting in each other and a level of tenderness and warmth you just don't see much of these days. I give the team behind this a standing ovation!
Now let's head to the ending. I've read some people are disappointed about it because it's not your run-of-the-mill…
I will also be happy without a second season for the reasons you describe. So many times people force a second season and it ruins the feeling if the first one. For me this show wasn't about two people falling in love as much as it was about the relationships they were exploring and the characters they were trying to evolve. I think they made a very open and thought provoking show that did its job perfectly well. If there is a second I would still watch though. If they have a story to tell, I will see if they can keep the quality because that's what they planned and not because of demand.

When I read when you typed "baby" ... I heard it in his voice! BWAHAHAHA I love it. Memories....
It helps me to separate BL from LGBTQ+ stories. For me, most BL is based off yaoi which is complete fantasy homoerotic stories whereas LGBTQ+ stories (which is what I classify this as) is based on real LGBTQ+ experiences. There is no "love without gender" in real LGBTQ+ stories. There's no " I'm straight but you are the only exception and now we will be together forever unless one of us dies and even then I will love no other." LOL. Yaoi. I love it but also know it has problems.
I can imagine Tay playing Vlad and Gun playing Karl if this were remade by GMMTV. Juan Miguel Severo would definitely…
We will get this quality of material from GMMTV when they decide not to do Yaoi based stories and do real LGBTQ+ stories instead like this was. But since a lot of their marketing, funding and PR depends on yaoi ideologies, fantasy and existing fanbase from yaoi novels, it will be difficult for them to break away so quickly because it's easy money. The fandom is also so toxic towards their actors and the whole "fan service" element is fuel to that fire which does little to help LGBTQ+ community. I mean, they are changing very slowly and Lovely Writer (Not GMMTV production of course) is a stepping stone for that imo because it is exposing the toxic culture around BL a little. But there is a long way to go still until real LGBTQ+ stories are told in the mainstream to the extent that BL stories are told and marketed, and not relegated to independent channels like Vimeo, youtube, GaGaOolala and the like. If you want a high calibre of LGBTQ+ drama then GMMTV is not the place to look for it. They are around but harder to find. The independent studios from Korea, Japan, Taiwan etc. are making lots of little high quality gems. Even though i enjoy watching GMMTV shows and really loving Tale of a thousand stars right now, I still watch it knowing that its yaoi in nature so I manage my expectations accordingly. In the meantime, I would prefer GMMTV not turn a realistic and beautifully executed LGBTQ+ story into yaoi fantasy tale no matter how much I love Tay, Off and Gun.
I loved this show and the two male leads. I was really interested in the story and the conversations between Vlad…
I mean, the show did call her out for it and she did apologise and I think she was valid when she said she was trying her best to love and support him and most people have that supportive relative who makes things a little more uncomfortable sometimes by misjudging a situation and being too supportive. This show was all about accepting and loving people for who they are, no judgement, from Vlad's cleanliness habits, to Karl's fear and insecurities, to Anna running away from her responsibilities, to the sister trying to be supportive but missing the mark sometimes especially after making a huge mistake and trying to make up for it, and to the gay uncle who came before this generation and has been through it all and is still being defined by everyone else for his sexuality. She may have been annoying and misguided at times, but she was there when it really mattered. A pillar of a support system for the brother she loves and doesn't want to see get hurt. She was there for Vlad, not Karl and she made that very clear that she won't take any B.S from anyone when it comes to her brother. She's basically like most moms. Annoyingly butting into our problems and causing a storm, but there when it matters the most (well it can be hit or miss, they are only human after all.)
I don't see it as weak personally. He is extremely unexperienced, introverted, and it seems like he has anxiety.…
I agree with your analysis. I don't find Gene rude, just a tad abrasive and only with Nubsib because he obviously likes him a lot but doesn't know what to do with himself so he overreacts and thinks too much in his panic. Totally relatable. I don't think Gene has social anxiety as he gets along with a lot of people and his relationships are pretty strong but he does get a bit anxious with Nubsib since he has feelings for him but he himself is confused.
I also know plenty of 20-somethings and even 50 somethings who act like children most of the time so expecting a 27 year old to always do the "mature" thing and act like an "adult" is a laughable an unrealistic expectation in my experience. We all do stupid stuff sometimes no matter how old we get especially when we really like someone.
I like it when my main characters aren't perfect as well. It leaves room for self reflection and growth of the character. It also seems like the writers have a clear vision and motivation for this character's development.
From the stage in which this story is set, I don't think the team behind it is taking the issues of BL and LGBTQ+ lightly at all. They are very aware of their position and even poke fun at the fans and the genre/industry while still exploring the issues.
I don't see Gene as girly at all. I have seen men in real life a lot "girlier" than Gene and they aren't even gay (or so they say lol).
I think the part that is missing here is Gene's internal monologue. Because of his abrasive character, its hard for some to understand his motivations sometimes. If this was a book, we would get that and he would be more understandable. I think this episode (6) it was difficult to understand his anger at Nubsib because I suspect there is more there than just being lied to. But I am enjoying how the characters are unfolding and becoming more realistic and every episode. Like the writers started with a very 2D BL premise with all the tropes and cliches, and now the character layers are being exposed and developed. We are starting to get hints that Nubsib isn't the perfect protagonist and can also be abrasive snd manipulative to get what he wants.
i pay for wetv but i can't watch this in my region :'( kinda sucksBUT i'm so ready for this episode!
Use a VPN, that's how I can watch it on WeTV. Otherwise wait a week and watch it one Youtube on the official นับสิบจะจูบ Lovely Writer channel - I don't need a vpn when its on Youtube, but its a week behind
Wait all? I heard about qiao and qin but what happens to wen?
That's not what happened. The son was used in order to distract everyone so that she could burn the embroidery. He was blamed as the person to lock the little one in the room alongside his mother even though he is innocent. They are both in hot water with Madam Xu. He is still locked away somewhere until he gets sent to the school far away but not abroad (China is a very very big land). This is what Madam Xu insinuated when the little one asked if he has left yet and Madam Xu said that he is still studying in his room and will leave soon. We don't know what is really going on there, only what the characters reveal and whether it's true or not is yet to be determined. Either way, no one has seen or heard from that boy or his Mother since.
I'm currently watching it. I am only on WeTV VIP schedule so just another few episodes to conclude it. I don't tend to watch things that are currently airing though. It was a mistake of mine not checking before watching. At least I am making the most of my WeTV subscription. I only took it out really for We Best Love and Manner of Death. lol
