I know the novel's ending - is the drama ending better?

It was really hard to finish but finally just did, Xu Kai made me survived. It's a lot of mess. Love the fighting scenes, CGI and costumes (but toward the end felt a bit too much), but the story just too...all over the place? Too many fillers but everyone died. Bad guys were the winners here while the good guys seriously have no clue what's going on. How did those elders become the leaders?? Not feeling the "feeling" between main couples, despite the kiss here and there. Dialogues felt choppy, not sure bad editing or bad directing, either way didn't have a good result. FL is beautiful but her role reminds me a lot of Fighter of the Destiny - I know she was supposed be to aloof, but got no emotion at all. This is the first time since the new regulation that I feel 40 episodes are too long....Anyway, if you like either ML or FL or both then you should watch this, if not, skip. I really hope Xu Kai's next drama will be better (seems like it).

I feel the same way, I am still at ep 28 - half way finish - and struggling to decide should I continue or not....Gulinazha didn't give good impression in Fighter of the Destiny so I was already skeptical about this one. I have more faith in Wonderland of Land with Jing Tian....

iqiyi usually is pretty good with subs. Youku, on the other hand, has had countless subs issue....

I haven't watched but are you seriously questioning the fighting / action scenes in chinese drama?? All of them are like that. Try to watch xianxia drama or serious wuxia drama, if you keep questioning the logic it's just going to drive you nuts.
